They truly have changed my life. I have a sense of peace within my spirit when I read her books. After reading The Peace of Heaven, I was so anxious to get Hope In Jesus. The journey she has taken in her life and the way Jesus changed her life has so inspired me. Dana is an amazing person and I am looking forward to her next book and I haven't even finished Hope In Jesus yet. I make it part of my night before I go to sleep; I read chapters of her book, pray and sleep so peacefully. Words cannot describe how grateful that I found Dana and her writings. God Bless!

There are many teachers that talk about freedom and enlightenment. it seems to often be "out there", somewhere as a possible future. We have glimpses and then fall back into our normal life. In our meditation we can find the mind slowing and peace that comes...but what about the rest of the time? This has been a question that has shadowed me for many years. But this book offers the sun to my day to day living. The teaching contained there in is immensely practical and far reaching."Journey into Now," begs to be studied and read many times. Each page is like a Zen koan. It seems to operate on the conditionings that has existed for thousands of years, conditionings that I am a product of and have not been aware of. From reading this book, there comes a sense that awakening is possible, not in some distant future, but in the here and now, as if it's not some mystical occurrence, but a natural flowering that is as if a birthright. This is tremendously inspiring, not only for myself, but for the collective. How valuable is such a book? More than any words that I could write...

This book covers the vast terriority of the soul. It is concise, easy to read and yet profoundly mystical. My journey until now has been difficult and complex, and the simplicity of this book resonates deeply with me. I was hungry for the real thing, and this book has delivered.

Excellent description of presence theory and practice By Christopher Lyddy I found Journey Into Now to be an excellent articulation of what presence is, of the nature and functioning of the ego-mind, as well as concrete advice on how to enter and remain in the state of presence. In my opinion, Jacobson's writings are at least on par with Eckhart Tolle, Ram Dass, Ramana Maharshi, Thich Nhat Hanh, and other such luminaries.Jacobson's descriptions are clear and rigorous enough to develop into an academic theory of presence. As a PhD student doing research in this area, I have used his writings, along with Tolle's, as the basis for a paper defining presence and exploring how it relates to mindfulness.From a personal perspective, I have found his writings and teachings enormously valuable for developing a practical understanding of what presence is, how I can enter the state, why I leave, and how I can remain. I first discovered presence after reading a Thich Nhat Hanh book. But I have only been able to consistently maintain presence by applying Jacobson's teachings. To me, that is the real test of this type of teaching and writing. Journey Into Now builds on his writings from the 1990s to offer readers simple, direct guidance on how to enter and remain in this state. It is basically a how-to manual, or alternatively a recipe book, for being present.I give this book my highest recommendation.

From School Library Journal Gr 4–7—In this revised edition of a self-published title, Mayrock, a college freshman, draws on her own experiences as a victim of bullying in middle and high school in order to help other teens. Her first-person voice is conversational and encouraging, and she offers practical survival tips (verified by experts), such as the importance of asking for adult help. Only occasionally does the advice veer into platitudes (for instance, "a war isn't won overnight"). The format and design are occasionally distracting, but on the whole, each chapter is useful as a guide to stand-alone topics, such as coping with cyberbullying and handling fear, making this a good title for young adults to consult in a moment of need. Some of the practical advice includes letter writing (penning a letter to loved ones about bullying situations), accepting oneself, and embracing creativity. Mayrock clearly relied on these steps herself; her creativity can be seen through the poems interspersed throughout. Each relates to the topic of the given chapter and conveys the raw emotions and reality of bullying. 25 of 26 people found the following review helpful. Sticks, stones and bootstraps By Dienne Let me start off by saying that it is very evident that this book comes from a place of deep sincerity. I am so sorry for the experiences that Aija Mayrock experienced in elementary and middle school and I’m very glad for her survival and healing. It is evident that she wants to share such survival and healing with kids who may still be stuck in her former position and encourage them to survive to a better day. This is a very noble book.But with that said, I was bullied from sixth through eighth grade and this book would not have helped me. In fact, most of the advice in this book was what I was told at the time – or variations thereof. It’s basically a series of affirmations and encouragements to be the “Real You” and pursue your creativity and seek social support in the face of bullying. I don’t deny that any of those things can help, but they do not end bullying.In fact, Aija herself admits as much. Her bullying only ended when her family moved to California – an option that’s probably not available for most bullied kids (and probably not always effective anyway, as I’m sure there are bullies in California too). There really is no way that the individual being bullied can make it stop. Bullying is a systemic problem – schools allow it to happen. Aija encourages kids to speak up and talk to their parents and teachers, but she admits they may not always choose to or be able to help.But the only way to stop bullying is to deal with the bully. But that doesn’t always happen because of our “sticks and stones” mentality. That which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Bullying is just a rite of passage. Kids need to learn to stand up for themselves. But bullying is an act of power and control – the bully has power, the victim does not. It’s as short-sighted to expect bully victims to stop their own bullying as it is to expect rape victims to stop their own rape.I’m sure that many kids will take comfort in Aija’s survival guide while the bullying is going on. Bullying does have severe consequences for self-esteem and confidence, and it can help to be told that you are a unique and valuable person in your own right and you don’t have to conform and “fit in”. But I never did try to conform (well, except for that time I bought into the Coca-Cola shirt trend, but by the time I got mine the fad was over and I continued wearing mine anyway because I liked it). I always did basically like myself and prided myself on being a bit of an oddball. And I was very good at (and enjoyed) the academic part of school and I was always creative. I just wanted the abuse to stop. I wanted to be able to go to school without being afraid. This book would not have helped me with that.In fact, during the time I was bullied, I was often subjected to various “self-esteem building” programs. Such programs not only didn’t help, but made the problem worse, because the message communicated was that it was about me – that somehow I had to change in order for the bullying to stop. To be fair, Aija works very hard in this book to make it clear that that is not her message – that bullying is never the victim’s fault. But I still find it a bit hard to take her bootstraps message because no amount of bootstrapping can make the bullying stop.Somehow we as a society have to get a handle on bullying. To be fair, many schools are working hard to address the problem. But many are groping in the dark and we need much more information about how to go about it. It seems to be about creating an environment with just the right balance of safety and mutual trust and respect. “Zero tolerance” and “no excuses” aren’t going to work because the more adults crack down on kids through harsh rules and punitive consequences, the more kids are simply going to find their way around such rules and consequences and the more bullying goes underground. Instead, somehow we have to find a way to empower kids to build their own no-bullying culture through social and emotional education that help students to see each other as fellow human beings, and to support those who are having difficulties so that those difficulties don’t get taken out on other kids. But in any case, it is up to the adults in a school to keep the students in their charge safe, physically and emotionally. Victims need to be protected from their bullies and it’s up to the adults to figure that out.Again, I will salute Aija for her compassion and her zeal in trying to deal with a problem that nearly devastated her life for years in order to help others facing the same problem. I hope that she will continue to confront the problem of bullying and to use her passion and her art to deal with it.

Almost finished reading your book in less then a week.1.Completely tuned in to every page and each Roem. Beautiful format.2. A walk into Aija's past and detailed illustration like story telling of how each bullying moment has left such deep imprints in her memory.3. Interestingly even though the Survival guide is meant for victims of bullying it actually helped me realize the ever so slight bully I've been. We often don't realize our mistakes until they are properly presented.4. I am truly inspired and have clearly understood how I will also contribute to all teenagers who deal with this kind of abuse on a day to day.What a gift and contribution.Superb Job.A must read!

By Dad of Divas This was a well written book that really explores a bit of everything when it comes to bullying today. I was very impressed with the breadth and depth of the discussion and how well the author really engaged the reader on the topics. The Q&A section was also very revealing to the concerns and issues that young people today are dealing with. The book is written in such a way that all young readers should be able to understand. What was most powerful though was that this was written by a young author that lived these experienced, survived them, and used them to help others. What a great testament to her growth. You will also love the creative ways in which she shares for kids to vent their pain and emotions. I particularly loved the Roems and to be honest there were times in my own adolescence when I wish I had know about that myself! This is a must read for all young adults!*I received this for review - all opinions are my own*

Why the 17:18 series? In Deuteronomy 17, Moses is leaving final instructions concerning the future of Israel. As a prophet of God, Moses foretells of when Israel will place a king over the nation (v. 14). In verse 18, the king is commanded to not simply acquire a copy of the law (the entire book of Deuteronomy) from the scroll publishing house, but to hand write his own copy of the law. Thirty-four hundred years later, educators are discovering that students that physically write out their notes by hand have a much greater retention rate than simply hearing or visually reading the information. Lund The idea of hand writing out portions of Scripture, and then writing your own comments and meditations down, is a great idea. I have just finished doing this for Galatians, and have found the experience very rewarding; there were aspects of Galatians I had never noticed before and was very helped in my walk with the Lord.The journal itself is very nice, aesthetically pleasing, and well put together in general.That said, you are basically paying extra for a glorified journal. Additionally, at times the amount of verses they decided to have you write out on a particular page, and where they decide to have you stop, is not always intuitive. There were times where if they had included one or two more verses you would have had the whole paragraph, instead you were left stopping writing out the Scripture at an awkward place, and beginning the next writing at an awkward place as well.My advice would be to buy a regular journal, and replicate the process, and write out the portions of Scripture on each page at more natural breaks in the book of the Bible you are writing out.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great start for bible journaling By Mallory I came across this book at mardels. I was immediately drawn to the style. I have always wanted to start journaling with my bible reading but never knew how. On the right page you hand write each verse and on the left side is area to write notes. In the notes section there are questions and points to guide your note taking. This book has really slowed me down in my bible study (in a good way). It has allowed me to really focus on the passage instead of just reading through it. I look forward to getting others in the series, especially the Romans edition. I also love having a hand written copy of the scripture right next to my notes.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Read this book and "Ray of LIght" and your life will never be the same again! By A Customer I have to disagree with the other two reviews. This book is right on the spot and I was getting chills just reading it especially about the Anti Christ and the great famine during his rule. Granted that the events aren't going to happen for another 47 years, still this book changed my life. I read another book a long time ago about the state of the world at the end of time and this new book by Mario Reading matches what happens in that booklet ("Ray of Light") I read which no one could have known about unless you read this booklet and since Orthodox Christianity is a very low key religion and not that much into your face trying to convert you and a rather small percentage of the world's Christian believers are Orthodox Christian... All I can say is no one else knew that there would be a worldwide famine during the time of the Anti Christ except the Orthodox Christian church fathers and now Nostradamus as well. Another book I highly recommend is Hildegard of Bingen's "Scivias for the visions and imagery in that book. Wernick If you have been following the Nostradamus TV documentaries for the last 8 years then you have probably wondered when these future events were shown to occur. This is the first book that delivers an answer to this question. Strange that the other authors were mentally unable to find the diligence to pursue this very important and blindingly obvious question.The additional detail on the immediate importance of events in this century is also quite satisfying.

By Sosanna The books didn't give any reasoning behind why the author connected the specific events. One quatrain was assigned to the flooding of New Orleans yet there was nothing in the passage that pointed towards it at all. To me I believe the author would do well to give more information on the reason he choose to link these events. If he is an expert on Nostradamus he should be able to explain it to me clearly. For now, I can say the book was lackluster and I wouldn't recommend it.

Everything an oracle deck should be -- and more By Georgina Toland Some oracle decks are too specific with their meanings, which makes them less useful as predictive & meditative tools. This deck uses common images and allows for more intuitive readings. A modern witchy sort of Lenormand deck, as it were. The cards have a good feel to them and the raised glossy embossed scrollwork makes them look very classy. I'm looking forward to using this deck for years to come!

By Tidal Ashburn I received the Witch’s Oracle the day before the full moon. I thought what a bonus! I love the way that it came packages. The card stock is nice and sturdy, and I love the magnetic box. Right away, I was captivated by the beautiful design on the back of the cards. It is rich and lush and appears to be embossed but feels smooth. I turned the cards over and found myself pulled into the pictures. They are simple but detailed at the same time.I looked at all the cards one by one and then looked through the book. What I immediately liked was that it was an Oracle deck designed by a Witch for Witches. It is a powerful deck. It is very user-friendly and very intuitive as well. There are a few spreads added if people need them but you can also use them as your spirit leads. You can use them as clarifier cards in a reading. You can use them for meditation purposed and you can use them in ritual work too.What struck me immediately was when I did my first reading with them I was in need of specific information and this deck I have to tell you was spot on and very specific. I mean specific to the point that the hair on my arms was standing up. I think the reason for that is that the designer of the deck did not design them for any other segment of the Pagan community. That is why I think that the voice was so loud with this deck. Now that being said anyone can benefit from this deck it is very user-friendly. The book does a very good job of explaining the card meaning and at the bottom of each page for each card, it offers an incantation. I found that particularly helpful.Sometimes I find that when I am shopping or drawn to a deck and I get it home I find that it is pretty but it does not speak to me. This deck does both beautiful and I find that I can work with this deck very easily. I am beyond pleased with The Witch’s Oracle. With humility, honesty, vulnerability and humor, Bill recounts his own journey. Early on, he promised that he would always say 'yes' to whatever "crazy thing" God asked him to do. That makes an incredible story in itself! But the most revolutionary part of Bill's story is his account of God's gentle intervention into his more and more driven lifestyle, as he focused on using every avenue and person in his life to fulfill God's bidding. This compelling, so-easy-to-read book, tells how the God that Bill had been serving so admirably and zealously, actually has a better idea for His kids. My own heart is forever changed.

The Jesus Experience opened up my eyes to my relationship with God...it helped me to draw closer to Him, to deepen my faith and love for our Lord Jesus Christ. I am thankful, to God, for allowing Barbour Publishing to send me this book. I honestly never would have thought to read it if I had not been offered a copy. I highly recommend this book to all who want to deepen their love for God, to do His will, in His time and in His way.I was given a copy of this book by Barbour Publishing in exchange for an honest review. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. One man's journey toward intimacy with the Father By Doug Erlandson This was the first time I had read anything by Bill Myers. However, the title sounded interesting. I was not disappointed. Bill is right on in what he says in this book. Written in an informal manner and drawing on his personal experiences, he shows what it is to have a truly intimate relationship with the Father. Too often Christians are either content to simply pray the sinner's prayer and go on living as they please, not concerned to please God, or, having trusted in Christ for their salvation, they think that the must earn the favor of God. Such thinking has it wrong.Bill is absolutely right in stressing the sovereignty of God in all things, including our salvation. He is also right in arguing that once we have trusted Christ for our salvation, we are righteous in God's sight and can't do anything more to earn our salvation or enhance our standing before God. Why, then, should we care about pleasing God? Because God delights in His church and His people. And He wants us to experience the joy of intimacy with him, an intimacy we can have only when we desire to please Him. Does this mean we will be perfect? Of course not. We are still sinners and will be until the end of our earthly life. And God knows this. However, the closer we draw to God the more we will find His Spirit working in us to conform us to what He wants us to be. Indeed, as the subtitle of this book says, it is a "Journey Deeper Into the Heart of God." Read this book and rejoice in one man's journey.I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for writing an honest review, which I am happy to provide.

If you like Keel, You won't be disappointed. A couple of very interesting chapters considering the nature of reality and consciousness. Mr. Keel was way ahead of his time and I believe his fame will keep on growing. Anyone interested in anything paranormal should read Keel.

By Zachary Koenig Before I stumbled across “The Phantom Bully”, I had not read any of the previous “Star Wars: Jedi Academy” graphic novels. So, I was coming into this one with a completely open and fresh perspective. The end result is that I was very entertained (even as an adult!) by the subject matter and the visuals and it really made me want to check out the previous two installments.For a basic plot summary, “Phantom Bully” tells the story of Roan, a boy going through what is essentially the last year of “Padowan Middle School”. Like many other YA middle school novels, this one touches on topics like added responsibility, tough/crazy teachers, first crush, bullies, and the bonds of friendship. Roan must navigate all those social situations while at the same time trying to prove himself to be a true Jedi student.Like I said, “Phantom Bully” covers many of the same tried-and-true themes of other novels with similarly aged protagonists. What makes this one stand out, of course, is that it can use the Star Wars brand to do it! Star Wars may be one of the most recognizable/popular franchises ever created, so it has instant appeal in storytelling possibilities. In this case, not only does Roan have to “survive middle school” (a common YA theme), but he has to do so with a professor who may be a Sith, another professor (Yoda) who talks backwards, Jedi mind tricks, an obstacle course featuring lightsaber battles, and a very diverse cast of characters/species all around him. To me, at least, that instantly ups the appeal of the story!Another thing that helps give the story a lot of visual flare (obviously important for a graphic novel) is that it ties in so well to the Star Wars previously-established universe. There are the obvious ones, like a Wookie, Yoda, and a few characters who have the same characteristics as Darth Maul, but even the secondary characters all either exhibit physical traits or perform actions reminiscent of previous Star Wars canon material. This makes for many visual “aha!” moments that are fun to experience.Overall, I very much enjoyed reading “The Phantom Bully” and can, from my unique-ish perspective, recommended it to all readers. Although I’m sure it would help to get a few “inside jokes”, you really don’t need to read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one…it stands on its own quite well. Solid themes + great visuals all tied together under the Star Wars universe = recipe for success.

I was totally hook to this book when I went to my friend house to play and he was reading the first book. I asked what it was about and just said: wow.you don't know this series. After hearing that, I wentto a book store and bought the first book. When I saw the book cover at first,I was like what kind of stupid book is this. But after reading it, I was like never judge a book by its cover. NEVER! When I finished it, I waited for the next book for a few months and it finally came out. I like this book as it got my attention when i was browsing sing through the kindle store. I was shocked and bought it without checking how much it is. The book funny and nice. I am waiting anxiously for the next book(if it is going to come out)i will buy it first.

Roan and his famous novel strikes again, making a third book! When the first came out, I was enjoying the story and plot of the book. Then I saw the second book and was enjoying the story, although the first was better. One year later, came, the: JEDI ACADEMY #3 THE PHANTOM BULLY. Now according to the cover I was not THAT inspired to read, but I still was excited. DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!!! The book was amazing... except... Gainana was a little different to me, but the book still is amazing (if you want to know who Gainana is, then read the novel)! I hope you were inspired to read the book from my rating. I hope you like it.
