Maybe your grandchildren are living with you. Maybe they're thousands of miles away. Their parents may be spiritually rebellious or simply neglectful of the family's spiritual life, failing to make prayer and church attendance a regular part of their routine. But even if your grandchildren's parents have established a strong Christian home, busy schedules, jobs, parenting, and all the distractions of today's world conspire to distract or even destroy the family. How can you, as a grandparent, help? God gives grandparents a sacred trust-an opportunity to imprint another generation with the message of his faithfulness. You can stand in the gap by being a godly example for your grandchildren and by praying for them. Even grandparents who already pray regularly for their grandchildren will discover creative suggestions for making the practice even more meaningful. From cell phones to photo prayer journals, you'll find tools that work for you-and for your grandchildren. Author Lillian Ann Penner provides specific examples of prayers to help you get started, such as alphabet prayers, prayers based on special scriptures, and prayers for certain holidays. You may even widen the circle, praying for other children in your life, for children who have parents in the military, and for the adults who influence your grandchildren. Regardless of how far away your grandchildren are, praying for them can bridge the distance between you and leave them with an inheritance more precious than gold.

From the Author God blessed my husband and me with nine grandchildren ranging in age from seven to twenty-eight years of age. For many years, I felt my prayers for my grandchildren were too general. I prayed that God would bless them, but, ultimately, I grew frustrated and felt something was lacking in my vague, general prayers. I asked God to show me how to become intentional in praying for them.As a result, God has given me a passion to pray intentionally for my grandchildren and given me an opportunity to share my passion with others by writing Grandparenting with a Purpose: Effective Ways to Pray for your Grandchildren. God gives grandparents a sacred trust, an opportunity to imprint another generation with the message of God's faithfulness. I hope this book will encourage you to pray intentionally for your grandchildren. You will find creative suggestions for making praying for your grandchildren a meaningful experience. Regardless of how far away your grandchildren are, praying for them can bridge the distance between you and leave them with an inheritance more precious than gold.

Within 1 month I saw immediate and positive responses from 3 of my 4 grandsons, Zach 9, Ben 7, and Brody 6 (the 4th one is only 3). One of the author's suggestions is that we tell our grandchildren we are praying for them and ask them specifically what they would like us to pray for. They were all surprised to find out that I pray for them on a specific day of the week, and I was surprised when each one of them told me something they wanted me to pray for. This is a great book to help you pray for your grandchildren. It not only gave me biblical guidance on prayer, but also gave me great suggestions, ideas and tools to help me pray more deliberately for each one. It doesn't matter what age your grandchildren are, this book will help you in your pray life. What better glory can we bring to God then to pray for the generations to come.

Invaluable information for every grandparent By TAG This book will be utilized time and time again by every grandparent who disires to give their individual grandchildren the most valuable gift of all; that being specific, scripture based prayers. Packed with suggestions the author has utilized in her own prayer efforts on behalf of her grandchildren, this book will transform your prayers. No matter the age of your grandchildren (infant through adult), you will find yourself knowing them more intimately and being assured you are offering prayers that are aligned with God's will. So many tools anyone can easily use. I especially enjoy using the suggested scriptures where I can simply fill in the blanks with my grandchild's name. Praying for my grandchildren has become a time of worship in itself! Also found the age related prayer suggestions extremely helpful. These are basic needs important to the growth of each child's developmental stage, things you may not even have thought important to pray for your grandchild's navigating through different life stages. I love this book!

Grandparenting With a Purpose By Lee & Sheryl We were encouraged with the many ideas the author gives grandparents on how to connect with their grandchildren, encourage them and pray for them. She obviously has alot of experience in praying for her own and a great heart after God's heart. We hope this book encourages you as it encouraged us to get connected with and to pray more specifically and regularly for our grandchildren!

Wonderful for young and older readers By MomBlogger So sad to have the series end, but oh what a series - this is the final book in "The Books of Elsewhere" series that my 9 year old daughter LOVES. I have been reading it now too and I must say that it captures the young (and older) readers' interest and imagination and keeps them coming back for more! What a wonderfully written series!

I think that's why my grands like them.. Even kids who don't normally express themselves that much about books, find plenty to talk about. As usual, this one was finished the day after received. My grandson (10), who is very picky about what he reads, disappeared into his room and read half by bedtime. Something about the dark and the conquest of good, in this case the conquest by children, over darkness/evil appeals to him. He was a little disappointed that this was the last one of the series, but he thought it ended "extremely excellently". I read several of these books myself and found them well written and very imaginative. I only hope the author starts a new series soon, with another diverse string of equally quirky and endearing characters.

By Bronwyn Keefe Palumbo This series was great; I didn't want it to end, but all things have to come to an end, if you know what I mean. This book was great for me. It was full of mysteries and for me, a little bit of suspense. When I was reading some parts of the book, I was like, ' oh my gosh, this is really going on??? I can't believe it!!!' I would DEFINITELY recommend this series!!!

You count a pregnancy by weeks and Kayla Aimee had only ticked off 24 of the 40 when she unexpectedly went into labor. She thought her church upbringing had prepared her for every circumstance but when tragedy struck and threatened to take the life of her newborn daughter, it felt as though once solid ground had turned to glass beneath her feet, destined to shatter everything she held sacred. When swept into a story of suffering, we all find ourselves vulnerable, questioning everything we thought we knew as we wonder, “Where is God in this?” With everything feeling as fragile as her one and a half pound daughter, Kayla finds herself asking that same question as she faces her greatest fear: that she may have finally become a mother just to lose her only child. Both poignant and humorous, Anchored recounts Kayla’s gripping story of learning to navigate her newfound motherhood in the most unexpected of ways, from holidays in the hospital and middle-of-the-night phone calls to the joy of coming home. With vulnerability and plenty of wit, Kayla lays bare her struggle to redefine her faith, her marriage, and herself within the context of a tragedy she never saw coming. For anyone who has felt their faith in God falter, Anchored extends a gentle invitation to join her as she uncovers a hope that holds.

10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Refreshing, Uplifting, and Challenging By Jennifer W I've "known" Kayla online since before she was pregnant. We chatted on forums together and I began following her when her story of infertility, miscarriage, and and a hyperemetic pregnancy mirrored my own. I remember the day we were informed that she was in the hospital and the baby was coming and I don't think I've missed anything she's written since then.I say that to say that I expected that I would know this story, and that it would be a recap of her blog. I almost didn't buy the book because I thought it would just be a reprint of what I've already read. It's not. It's still signature Kayla, with a mastery of story telling that will lead you from hysterical stitches to tears and back again so quickly, you'll find yourself unsure of what just happened. But there is a depth and vulnerability in this book that is more intimate, personal, and carefully woven. She never challenges the reader to change her own mind about something she may believe or have experienced. However, the way in which she presents the things that changed, shaped, or challenged her is so real, and normal, that your guard is down and you can unthreateningly examine the conclusions and experiences your own life has made in response to pain and sorrow. Kayla is not preachy, and a lot of times I thought I was just reading a nice story, and then "bam!" something so poignant it caught my breath in my chest would jump right off the page at me. I have many doggeared pages to read again at another time. I read the book in less than one day because it was so easy to read with her. Even though I already knew how the story "ends" (up to this point), I could not stop reading.Kayla's book is not just for NICU Mommies. If you or someone you love has ever faced despair, or if you simply want to read witness to how one woman walking in grace learned to face her despair, this book is for you. Read it, savor it, be encouraged by it, be challenged by it, and join me in appreciating Kayla's wise stewardship of the story that has been given to her.

The frustration when you don't feel comfortable with someone who is taking care of your baby By Mitchell Linde My daughter was born this past winter at 33 weeks - solidly a preemie for sure, but facing nowhere near the same challenges as Kayla Aimee's daughter, who was born at just 25 weeks gestation. Still, from the beginning of this book I found myself catching my breath or laughing out loud as I identified with aspects of Kayla Aimee's story. The trauma of delivering a tiny baby, the feeling of failure for being unable to carry the pregnancy to term. The heartache of leaving the hospital while your fragile baby stays behind. The frustration when you don't feel comfortable with someone who is taking care of your baby, and the hesitation to say something. Kayla Aimee writes eloquently about her journey of not just becoming a mother, but also the process of finding her place in her daughter's new world. It is frequently said that having a child in the NICU is like a roller coaster ride, with many ups and downs. While that is true, this saying has always seemed "off" to me. A roller rcoaster is something you choose to get on. It can be scary, but in a good way, since you are choosing to chase the thrill. You also know that there is an end in the very near future, and that you and those on the ride with you will be exiting safe and sound. The NICU experience isn't really like that for most people, and this book captures that reality perfectly. I so appreciated how authentic the book was. It definitely has a spiritual/faith component which is very important too, but so many books in that genre can seem to white-wash things or gloss over challenging issues. Kayla Aimee lays out her true experiences and I was able to relate to many of them. She writes of being frustrated with others while knowing they mean well. When she wrote of having a bit of an outburst I laughed out loud even though it wasn't meant to be funny, as I had at one point thrown my cell phone at the wall, causing shards of glass to rain down from a picture frame after discovering that my employer hadn't been paying me for the past month and a half since they "weren't sure if I wanted them to yet," while bills with numbers that looked like phone numbers were arriving daily. I was irrationally angry at the people whose houses we would drive by one the way home from the hospital, lit up with Christmas lights. How could people be going about their lives as if everything was fine when it was anything but fine? It was so nice to read of someone who had faced similar challenges, and also the triumphs of little Scarlette.Although I was able to identify in a lot of ways with this story because of our own experiences I feel like anyone with a child, or who has faced unexpected circumstances, or has asked themselves "why?" will greatly enjoy this book. Really even if you haven't had any of those experiences you should still read this book. It made me both laugh and cry and is a great book that you will not want to put down.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. More than a "nice" Christian read By Gary Sullivan The author, Kayla Aimee, is five feet tall, of slight build and by her own admission is often mistaken for a child. But what a literary punch she has. I was prepared for a "nice" Christian read, whatever that may look like...but, oh my goodness! The event that triggers the writing of this book is the birth of Scarlette. Scarlette enters this world a micro-preemie..."weighing less than 6 sticks of butter", a quote from her mother, Kayla Aimee. Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster ride of emotion as you read...one minute you burst out in laughter and the next you are sobbing into your pillow. God's wisdom, His trustworthiness, His steadfastness is all on display in this book, but the finding of His hope seems to be in the unexpected joy of laughter. I loved this book!

Space Dog, by Mini Grey

From School Library Journal K-Gr 2—Even though they've been enemies in the past, Space Dog, Astro Cat, and Moustronaut team up for a special mission. It begins with Space Dog about to go home. His mission begins tackling problems in the Dairy Quadrant. A cute piece of cereal donning a crown pleads for help on Cornflake 5 because there is no milk on the planet. Meanwhile, planet Bottleopolis is inundated with milk. With Space Dog to the rescue, the planets are saved. His next feats involve tackling the Colossal Stink, a growing hairball living in the drain, and rescuing an escaped pet. Life returns to his normal, but boring, routine until Astrocat crashes his space saucer and needs to be rescued. Even though the two have been enemies, they soon discover how much fun it can be spending time together. Just when Astrocat is ready to head home, another distress call comes in. The Ketchup Volcanoes need their lids screwed on. Space Dog and Astrocat have a successful mission. But before they return home, Moustronaut needs rescuing from Cheese Ants, especially from the menacing Queen with huge green eyes and large striped legs. Despite their previous enmity, Astrocat saves Moustronaut. Although no one knows what the future holds, they decide to be friends. In typical Mini Grey-style, illustrations are bold and colorful. This graphic novel-like format will be embraced by its audience. VERDICT With elements of space, dogs, and friendship, this is likely to find an enthusiastic audience.—Robin Sofge, Alexandria Library, VA

By Carrie Charley Brown Being a Space Dog is hard work, especially in a busy, animated, anthropomorphic food "Spooniverse." Our hero wants to go home, but gets wrapped up solving the Spooniverse’s problems along the way. I love how this character challenges himself to veer away from his normal routine and explore unchartered territory. Themes of taking risks, friendship, and teamwork are present. With that combination, anything is possible. The cartoonish illustrations are worthy of a television series. The commercialism is appealing and the reader will have to stop and take in every little detail to fully experience the art. With so much going on, the pacing tends to come to a halt at certain points to allow for this exploration. But, there is no shortage of entertainment in this story, and every reader will have something to enjoy. Space Dog is sure to be a fun read aloud, especially for laps.

A wonderful book for Family time, with Illustrations to color, Fables to read, & The Moral of each to kick start conversations By Jackie Cooper Included in this book are 22 of the most beloved Aesop’s Fables each about a paragraph long, and the moral of the fable is also included on one page, then the fable is imaginatively depicted in a full page to color comprised of large details so that even crayons will work with this coloring book. As I looked through this book for the first time, it brought back memories of my childhood, sitting on the couch with my grandmother as she read Aesop’s Fables to me.These fables kick start some lively communication and conversations with the grandchildren at my house. Such a wonderful book for quality family time, filled with timeless moral lessons to learn in fable form.1. 22 illustrations printed one per page, however the back of each page has the text of one of Aesop’s Fables and the moral of the fable, so colored pencils or crayons are a good choice for this book.2. The Fables /Morals included in this book are:a. The Hare and the Tortoise/Slow and steady wins the race.b. The Fox and the Stork/Don’t complain when others treat you as you treat them.c. The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse/A simple life without worries is better than a rich life full of cares.d. The Lapdog and the Donkey/ Always be yourself and do not foolishly imitate others.e. The Fox and the Grapes/When people can’t get what they want because of their own inabilities, they often pretend they didn’t want it anyway.f. The Dog and his shadow/Be satisfied with what you have.g. Belling the Cat/It is easier to propose a plan than to put it into action.h. The Rooster and the Jewel/ Beauty without usefulness is sometimes undesirable.i. The Boy and the Figs/Greed often hinders success.j. The Wind and the Sun/Persuasion is better than force, and a kind and gentle manner will get quicker results than threats.k. The Kid and the Wolf/It’s easy to be brave when you are far from danger.l. The Dove and the Ant/One good turn deserves another.m. The Vine grower and his sons/Hard work is man’s greatest treasure.n. The young Mouse, the Rooster and the Cat/Don’t be deceived by grand appearances.o. The boy who cried wolf./If you tell a lot of lies, no one will believe you even when you tell the truth.p. The Fox and the Woodman/Action speaks louder than words.q. The Fortune Teller/Those who practice deception are often most easily deceived.r. The Peacock and the Crane/Those who are most conceited often have the least cause.s. The old Man and his sons/In unity there is strengtht. The Lion and the Mouse/Kindness is seldom thrown away, and there is no creature so small that he cannot return a good deed.u. The Fox and the Crow/Those who listen to false flatterers must pay the price.v. The Maid and the Pail of milk/Don’t count your chickens until they’re hatched.

Poor execution and rendering of the Kindle editions of books is a problem endemic with Amazon, the producer of Kindle. This has nothing to do with the content or quality of the original book itself. Andrew Soltis generally writes good chess books. In fact this books treats a topic which gets scant treatment in the chess literature. Certainly there are no books entirely devoted to extensive coverage of the topic of exchanging that I am aware of. In that regard this is a welcome and important addition to the chess literature.

It's a real gem: one of those chess books that you can read like a page turner.Entire games are given, if you want to play though them, and helpful diagrams show the key positions so well that you can follow without a board for the most part if you're able to envision a couple of moves in sequence.Lessons are divided into themes such as QxQ, RxR, B vs. N, etc. and further subdivided into motifs which can be read through in a minute or two each, so that you can pick it up at any time for a couple of minutes or read a whole chapter if you have an hour.I can't praise the examples given too highly. Soltis has really compiled a quality collection of games to make each point, drawing from the classics to the very recent. Kramnik and Karpov feature prominently, as they were masters of exchange and building initiatives, but there are lots of others. This is really the kind of rare chess book (like Silman's) where you pick up much more than the actual lessons by osmosis and that is such a pleasure to read that you will probably read it twice at least.

7 of 13 people found the following review helpful. it is horrible to navigate By Green-Machine i got the kindle edition since they were out of stock; it is horrible to navigate; you never know whether you missed a page or not. Answers to the quiz questions at the end of each chapter have yet to be found by me. WAIT for the paper copy. Soltis is a very good writer, but the kindle ed is too disjointed and disorganized to get anything out of the material. Forget the kindle version and get the hard copy. You will be glad you did. An eminent Christian philosopher's take on justice, rights, wrongs -- and what love has to do with it allLove and justice have long been prominent themes in the moral culture of the West, yet they are often considered to be almost hopelessly at odds with one another. In this book acclaimed Christian philosopher Nicholas Wolterstorff shows that justice and love are at heart perfectly compatible, and he argues that the commonly perceived tension between them reveals something faulty in our understanding of each. True benevolent love, he says, is always attentive to justice, and love that wreaks injustice can only ever be "malformed love." Wolterstorff's Justice in Love is a welcome companion and follow-up volume to his magnificentJustice: Rights and Wrongs (Princeton, 2010). Building upon his expansive discussion of justice in that earlier work and charitably engaging alternative views, this book focuses in profound new ways on the complex yet ultimately harmonious relation between justice and love.

Justice in Love (Emory University Studies in Law and Religion), by Nicholas Wolterstorff

Review John Witte Jr.— Emory University “For the past three decades Nicholas Wolterstorff has crafted a devastating philosophical critique of and a bracing Christian alternative to John Rawls’s Theory of Justice. In this exquisite new book of political theology, he tours the perennially contested questions of eros and agape, rule and equity, discipline and mercy, responsibility and forgiveness, justice and righteousness. Learned, judicious, strikingly innovative, and crystal clear, this book has all the marks of yet another Wolterstorff classic in the making.”  Miroslav Volf — in Books and Culture “Nicholas Wolterstorff’s Justice: Rights and Wrongs is a magisterial book. In it and in its companion volume, Justice in Love, Wolterstorff has gotten justice right.”Comment “Lucid, stirring, and provocative. . . . Offers a feast of insight, wisdom, and clarification.”Interpretation “A significant and important work.”  Reviews in Religion & Theology “What has love to do with justice? In this intellectually rigorous work, one of the world’s preeminent Christian philosophers argues that a cogent view linking the two is both possible and inevitable given the claims of the Christian tradition itself. Making such an argument requires cutting through several difficult problems, a task Wolterstorff does with clarity and a respect for other views that deserves wide imitation.”  Theological Book review “A well-researched, informative, and well-argued book. . . . This book is a must read for any Christian ethicist.”  Regent’s Reviews “Wolterstorff’s writing is lucid, his insistence on uniting philosophy, theology and biblical exegesis within a single work is exemplary, and his contribution deserves to mark the debate about justice, love and forgiveness in the twenty-first century.”  Presbyterian Outlook “Sometimes, a book comes along that entirely reshapes consideration of a key topic in theology and philosophy. Such a book is Nicholas Wolterstorff’s Justice in Love.”

About the Author Nicholas Wolterstorff is Noah Porter Professor Emeritus ofPhilosophical Theology at Yale University. Before going toYale he was Professor of Philosophy at Calvin College inGrand Rapids, Michigan, for thirty years.

These are books which challenge your fundamental convictions. They are those which require heavy lifting mentally. Yet, it is precisely because of all these things that make such books rich and important reading.Nicholas Wolterstorff is Professor Emeritus in Philosophical Theology at Yale and a Senior Fellow at the University of Virginia. To put it colloquially, he's one smart dude. Dr. Wolterstorff is involving himself in a significant discussion that has involved people from every level of academic achievement: what do justice and love have to do with one another. Primarily, his question involves Christians. As followers of Christ, how are we to understand both love and justice. Are they compatible or mutually exclusive? Are they synonymous or different, yet complementary? These are tough questions. Good answers require a strong mind.I plan to "live" in this book for a while. Yet, during my pre-reading and subsequent speed-reading I can already tell that this book is well-writtern. His argument follows an intuitive pattern and makes sense. However, it is a very dense book. I would not recommend this book for a general audience. The language can be technical and the ideas complex. But, it is appropriate since much of the chapters where originally presented as lectures at a number of universities and seminaries. Additionally, this title is included in the Emory University Series in Law and Religion. It is not meant to be light reading.Despite the complexity that does not mean that there is much to learn. I read a few chapters slowly and received much by way of mental stimulation and challenged assumptions. This book is a thoughtful and helpful tour through a difficult subject. His expertise as an educator and scholar is evident throughout. Additionally, he models responsible scholarship by exploring the ideas of other scholars and then skillfully demonstrating the deficiencies in their arguments. He confronts ideas, not persons - that is what a scholar is to do. I plan on living in this book for a while. I plan on learning much from it.NOTE: In accordance with the regulations of the Federal Trade Commission, I would like to state that I have received the aforementioned title for the purposes of review. I was not required to furnish a positive review

5 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Tedious By joe m. I am very interested in social justice, and I thought this book would be useful in enhancing my understanding. The author is a brilliant philospher, and I suspect that specialists in this field will find it enthralling. I found it somewhat tedious and wordy. I struggled through over 200 pages and have put it aside for another attempt later on. The author seems to be very interested in justifying his positions, and does that very well, but I would appreciate a book that got to the point more quickly.

"Whisper, Whisper encourages families to attend church and seeks to prepare very young children for the routine and ritual of worship services. It can be used in the home on Saturday evening to prepare for Sunday morning; it can be used in the pew before service; and it can be included in church quiet bags and new member or baptismal packets. 32-page picture book with rhyming text, in-sanctuary tips, and engaging, colorful illustrations. Each page has a couplet that introduces what is happening at church; the optional activities help to focus attention and remind about behavior. For parents of children up to age 4, this book would be purchased by parents, grandparents, Godparents and churches as baptismal gifts, preschools and daycare centers, and congregations to give to new members."

Whisper, Whisper: Learning About Church, by Mary Moerbe, Martha Aviles

Review Through worship, our Heavenly Father blesses, forgives and strengthens all of His children, regardless of age. The natural curiosity of children leads them to ask questions about what is happening during worship and why. The conversations that follow help our children develop an appreciation for the traditions of the church, and more importantly, provide for the growth of their tender faith.

This book will be a valuable resource for parent and educators seeking simplistic explanations and engaging discussion points to make the most of those faith-building moments. --Angela Shirley, Director of Early Childhood Education, Christ Community Lutheran School

From the Author Bringing little kids to church can be hard and intimidating, but God has good gifts for them there. I brainstormed most of the tips and "lessons" involved for my own little ones. With my husband up front, a kind congregation member would sit at one end of the pew, me at the other, and we'd try to not only contain my little ones but also to help them. So, consider this book a little assurance that others are in your spot, too. May we share support, encouragement, and tips with each other while keeping our little ones in the flock of God!

About the Author Mary Jackquelyn Moerbe is a free-lance writer and rostered deaconess--amercy worker in the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod--under the CranachInstitute. She and her husband, Rev. Ned A. Moerbe, live in Oklahomawith their six children. She loves theology, words, food, and directingher small church choir. Mary holds a bachelor degree in Letters, a form of classical liberal arts, and another in music. She also has aMaster of Arts degree in theology with deaconess certification fromConcordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She has publishedfour books.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A Great Way to Teach Kids and Encourage Parents as They Receive the Gifts of God Together By ECA My 2.5 year old son absolutely loves the book. From the first time we read it, he attempted all the actions, especially making a cross with his fingers. He loves to point out all of the things he recognizes from church in the beautiful pictures by Martha Aviles. The rhythmic, rhyming text of Mary Moerbe's book encourages him to remember parts. He walks around the house saying "Whiper, Whiper, da da da da" (he can't say "whisper" yet, and he's saying a mix of nonsense and regular words to try and fill in the rest of the phrase in the rhythm set by the text). He has asked for this book repeatedly now for several weeks, and we often read it at bedtime. The tips for parents in the back are also extremely helpful, and remind us that we're not alone on this journey of teaching our children to receive the gifts of God in the Divine Service. As a fellow deaconess, I cannot think of a better resource for my own children, my goddaughters (we've already given a copy to one goddaughter and plan to do so for the other), and all the children who sit in the pews each Sunday! Thank you, Deaconess Mary Moerbe and Martha Aviles!

As a prophet of God, Moses foretells of when Israel will place a king over the nation (v. 14). In verse 18, the king is commanded to not simply acquire a copy of the law (the entire book of Deuteronomy) from the scroll publishing house, but to hand write his own copy of the law. Thirty-four hundred years later, educators are discovering that students that physically write out their notes by hand have a much greater retention rate than simply hearing or visually reading the information. Apparently, God knew this to be true of the kings of Israel also. From such understanding came the conception of this series of books.

How to Use These Books Each book is organized so that you can write out your very own copy of Scripture. You will be writing the Bible text only on the right hand page of the book. This should make for easier writing and also allows ample space on the left page to write your own notes and comments. From time to time a question or word will be lightly printed on the left page; these questions are to aid in further study, but should not interfere with your own notes and comments.

1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon and Hebrews - Journible the 17:18 Series (Journibles: the 17:18 Series), by Robert J. Wynalda

Review There is an old proverb that says 'Thoughts disentangle themselves when passing over the lips and through the finger tips'. The 17:18 Series which encourages us to actually write out the words of Scripture will be a tremendous tool in putting that proverb into action in our daily lives. I am happy to commend this project. --Jerry BridgesRob Wynalda's The 17:18 Series encapsulates the biblical mandate to write Scripture on the tables of our hearts. By writing out Scripture ourselves and buttressing that with answering questions and taking notes about the texts, we will grow immensely in hiding the Word in our hearts and exemplifying it in our lives. This series of books is suitable for children and adults, for lay people and ministers, for Bible study classes and private devotions. Try a volume yourself. By the Spirit's grace, your soul will prosper, and you will want to write out the whole of Scripture. --Joel Beeke

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Great idea! By Kindle Customer I just finished my first journibles book, and let me tell you how wonderful this idea is. i really loved this idea from the start, since it seems like everytime i read the bible i seem to forget almost everything i read. but with this you really remember and really take the time to process each verse. it took me about a month to finish this book. i start my mornings with writting and it gives me such a peace through out my day. i would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new study idea. and the price is a great deal, its hardcover, the pages are thick and you know you won't run out of pages be able to finish once you start writting a book. the only thing i will say is they need to hury up and get the rest of the books out. at least finish the new testimate.

It seems that only a few of the books in this series are even offered in paperback. A spiral bound book or a paperback would allow you to write more comfortably in the book. Although I will say that once you are done writing it all out, it does look nicer on a bookshelf then a paperback would.
