Unfriendly Formatting By Josephine Phoa This is a review on the formatting of the Bible, not of the bible itself, as the Jerusalem Bible is my favourite version of the Bible. The books are not displayed entire books in the table of contents but as chapters of the books which makes it really tedious to move from book to book. The verse numbers are also displayed in the same size font as the text, which I always felt to provide for a greater flow of reading should be a smaller size font. Really disappointed that there is no good version of the Jerusalem Bible and the new Jerusalem Bible.

By Dave Pederson First of all, the Kindle is not set up to handle a book like the Bible where one moves through it by book, chapter and verse. You would be better off obtaining a Bible app for going through the Bible to a specific verse on a Kindle is cumbersome. However, with that said, I have not been able to find a Bible app that has "The Jerusalem Bible". A number of apps may have "The New Jerusalem Bible" but not "The Jerusalem Bible" so I needed to turn to the Kindle for this Bible version and live with its cumbersomeness. Now it appears that this transposition to digital was done by the labor of love of a volunteer. I have come across a couple of minor editting errors in the first 6 chapters but nothing that ruins the readability of the translation.

Many reviewers have noted the faulty Table of Contents where you have to go through all the chapters to find what you want. I solved this on my Kindle Paperwhite by setting up bookmarks at strategic places. For example, a mark at Mark ch. 1 allows me to nav. back quickly through Matthew & forward through Mark. This is possible because when you're at a certain spot, and you hit GO TO, the index comes up at the point where you are, not back at Genesis.Huge help in navigating and makes it actually easier to nav. than some of my other books.

Livvy Flynn is a big deal - she's a New York Times-bestselling author whose YA fiction has sold all over the world. She's rich, she's famous, she's gorgeous, and she's full of herself. When she's invited to an A-list writer's conference, she decides to accept so she can have some time to herself. She's on a tight deadline for her next book, and she has no intention of socializing with the other industry people at the conference. And then she hits the detour.

Before she knows it, her brand new car is wrecked, she's hurt, and she's tied to a bed in a nondescript shack in the middle of nowhere. A woman and her apparently manic daughter have kidnapped her. And they have no intention of letting her go.

The Detour, by S. A. Bodeen

From School Library Journal Gr 7 Up—Livvy, a successful, narcissistic teen novelist, crashes her car on the way to a writers retreat. The last thing she remembers before passing out is a creepy little girl coming at her through the window of her car. When she comes to, she discovers to her horror that she is being held prisoner in the basement of a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. Her captors, a middle-age woman and her unhinged flute-playing daughter, seem to hold a deep grudge against Livvy and plan to hold her until she figures out what she's done wrong and apologizes. As the young novelist devises her plot to escape, she analyzes her own history, puzzling out what the woman and her creepy kid could have against her. As readers learn more about the protagonist's childhood, they better understand her prickly personality. This work pays homage to Stephen King's Misery but is definitely more thriller than horror. Following the bread crumbs, discerning readers will figure out the twist long before Livvy sees it coming, but there is still a lot of satisfaction in watching Livvy's dawning understanding. VERDICT With a tidy plot and a heroine readers will eventually warm up to, this is a solid choice for thriller and mystery fans who aren't quite ready for Stephen King.—Leighanne Law, Scriber Lake High School, WA

I did find more than one character to be clichéd. It’s been said before: This is a YA version of Misery, and Misery was one of the few Stephen King books I enjoyed. Many of the plot points were very predictable, but that’s to be expected in YA fiction. There was a surprise or two though, and those surprises were greatly appreciated. The book is almost non-stop action, and there were no glaring story flaws. Despite predicting much of the book, I enjoyed reading the follow-through. The ending is excellent, and if the author wants to, there could easily be a sequel.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fast Paced Read, Great for October! By Melissa's Eclectic Bookshelf The Detour is a fast paced read that is just perfect for October. I was captivated and entertained throughout but I definitely was hoping for a bit more.Livvy’s character is not at all likable.Even after learning more about her history, I really had a hard time feeling sympathetic for her. You can’t not root for someone to escape when being held hostage in a basement by apparent lunatics…but still…it’s always hard for me to 100% connect with a book if i can’t connect to the main character. For all her faults, Livvy was spunky. And I like spunky. I loved her internal dialogues and her half-hearted escape plans and attempts. Her captors were just odd enough to keep me worried for her and there were a few moments where I really had a hard time guessing where this was all going.I had hoped though, that Bodeen would take this to a bit deeper place.Maybe I was spoiled by The Compound. This could have been a lot darker and I would have been a lot more invested. We didn’t really get enough of the background or motivations driving any of the characters and that definitely could have added another whole level to The Detour.I’ve seen a few other reviews mention twists…I didn’t really find The Detour twisty enough. There was the final revelation at the end which I almost but didn’t quite guess.**Spoiler Alert**I loved how Bodeen dealt with the topic of plagiarism. With her nod to Stephen King’s Misery and her own main character addressing the issue of plagiarism and potential idea theft, Bodeen handily addressed a pretty weighty issue and still left me wondering where that line really should be drawn.**End Spoiler**This wasn’t my favorite of Bodeen’s books but it was still a worthwhile read.

A fascinating psychological thriller, a very quick read By Rachel @ Paper Cuts blog The Detour is a Misery-like thriller that never lets you stop questioning just what's going on. With a YA-centric premise, thriller fans are going to enjoy figuring out why Livvy has been kidnapped and how she'll get out.I, personally, loved that Livvy is a young adult author, with the interesting addition that she's just barely out of high school, having reached meteoric success. But Livvy is far from likable. In the beginning, she's at times smug and acts as if she's entitled to the success she's enjoyed. It's off-putting, but she's got a big experience ahead of her. There's more to Livvy than meets the eye, and her background is more interesting than you'd expect. And her time in the basement uncovers a lot while also changing even more. While I thought several of the twists were easy to anticipate, I still enjoyed reading how Livvy's experience worked out--how she'd deal with the time in the basement, whether she'd escape or be saved, the details as to why she was kidnapped, and the aftermath of the experience. Even without too much surprise, it's interesting to see.The Detour is more psychological than action-packed, but it's fascinating and quite the quick read. The second half flies by as you find more questions and keep hoping your suppositions are correct.I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Best Ebook Online The Bible on Location: Off the Beaten Path in Ancient and Modern Israel, by Julie Baretz

In this innovative guidebook Julie Baretz takes readers to twenty-one off-the-beaten-path locations in Israel where Bible stories are said to have happened. At each site she sets the scene by relating the historical context of the event, then follows with the biblical text itself and her own lively commentary. Captivating and complex Bible characters bring the locations to life as they face social, ethical, and spiritual dilemmas not unlike our own today. Baretz’s narratives draw on history, archaeology, academic scholarship, and rabbinic literature for interpretations that enhance the meaning of the biblical events. Each story is told in the voice of Baretz as the tour guide—knowledgeable yet informal and friendly. The Bible on Location traces the chronology and narrative arc of the historical books of Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, Ezra, and Nehemiah. The book begins with the Israelites’ arrival in the land of Israel (following the exodus from Egypt and the forty years of wandering) and continues over more than six hundred years, until the return of the Jewish exiles from Babylon to their homeland. Baretz’s descriptions are accompanied by colorful maps and photographs that put actual and armchair visitors in the middle of the action. Each location reveals a new episode in the biblical narrative and provides inspiration and commentary that will enhance visits to the various sites.

Barnett I'm so thrilled with this book, that I am giving it to fellow travelers, and to my own pastor to help her become a better story teller.Julie has a great gift of narrative: seeing the big picture, putting history in context, and then personalizing the dilemmas of the characters, and tying it to what happened, and to our own spiritual lives. Equally appropriate for Christians and Jews -- this is a great reference book, interesting reading for the armchair traveler, and highly recommended.

Whimsical adventure By Kitiara Majere I enjoyed this highly entertaining novel of whimsical adventure.Weird creatures (albeit not sarcastic!) included Oliver who resembled an onion; a debonair Parisian gargoyle tour guide; a fortune-telling con artist toad and many others. If you enjoy fantasy novels do read this, but be warned...you may be left wondering about what may be bathing in your cup of coffee (heh! heh!).Eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. There were a few editing errors that can be corrected with proofreading.

I think this work is very salient for anyone who cares about and wants to preserve the earth and humanity for future generations. I said "humanity" because it is easy to see the atrocities we are heaping on the earth, but I think sometimes we are willfully blind about how we mistreat each other. This is a must read for all who care about living on this planet.

For Cardinal Francis George, the Catholic Church is not a movement, built around ideas, but a communion, built around relationships. In A Godly Humanism, he shares his understanding of the Church in lively, compelling prose, presenting a way to understand and appreciate the relationships of God to human beings and of human beings to one another. These loving relationships are continually made present to us in and through the Church, from the time of Jesus' first disciples down to our own day. We are introduced to how the spiritual and intellectual life of Christians, aided in every generation by the Holy Spirit working through the Apostles and their successors, resist the danger of splitting apart from one another. Though they take different outward forms at different times, both wisdom and holiness are made possible for every Christian of every station of life. Sign-posting his conversation by the milestones of his own spiritual and intellectual journey, Cardinal George invites us to view the Church and her history in ways that go beyond the categories of politicsthrough which we find merely human initiative, contrivance, and adjustmentand rather to see the initiative as God's first and foremost. God is the non-stop giver, we are non-stop recipients of his gifts, and the recent popes, no less than the Father of the Church, have made every effort to make us aware of the graces that is, of the unearned benefitsthat God confers on us as Catholics, as Christians, as believers, and simply as human persons. Pope Francis, he reminds us, contrasts human planning with God's providence, and this book is at once an exposition of that providence and a personal response of gratitude for the way it has operated in one man's life. This persuasive book, imbued with the thoughts of profound thinkers from the Ancient world, from St. Augustine and other Church fathers, and steeped in the wisdom of church teaching from earliest times through to the Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis, invites and persuades the reader to reimagine the church as communion and the life of faith that we live as part of it.

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Profound book by an intelligent cardinal! By Stuart Dunn A Godly Humanism is the last book written by by Francis Cardinal George before his death. In this book, Cardinal George calls on us to understand and appreciate the human relationships with God and each other. He begins his book by talking about the intellectual tradition of the Catholic Church, how it has grown, evolved, and taken shape. He also explains that this intellectual tradition is not just important for the Church, but for society as a whole. This leads us to the whole "faith and reason" argument that we have all heard and read countless times. The Church, unlike other Christian churches does not put these two things against each other, but embraces both.Chapter Two talks about Catholics who become intellectuals and intellectuals who become Catholics. The chief example in this chapter is, of course, St. Augustine. So many of us in our formative years are like St. Augustine. We go to college. We listen to many different thoughts and ideas. We absorb so much knowledge. But then, we have to parse through it and decide where ultimate Truth lies, and that is with God and His Church. Chapter Three delves into what makes Catholics different than Protestants, namely Tradition. Because of this Tradition, we can be assured of access to God due to things such as apostolic succession and the fact that our Church was founded after Jesus' Resurrection. The rest of the book focuses on topics such as living in a post-Christian society (very useful); education to integrate culture and religion; how to integrate Vatican II; and what recent popes have done for the Catholic intellectual tradition.Reading through this book, it's easy to be reminded how brilliant of a mind that Cardinal George had. He pulled from numerous teachers both ancient (St. Augustine) and recent (Pope Francis) to demonstrate his point that the Catholic Church is built upon a relationship with God and each other. God is continually reaching out to us and showing us His presence and love. He reached out to us with the Holy Spirit when, the Holy Spirit worked through the Apostles, and he continues to reach out to us through their successors as well. Cardinal George reminds us of this and and the untold graces that God continues to shower on us, if we only let him, This was truly a beautiful book and is a fitting final book for the brilliance that was his life. Highly recommended!

THE CULPRIT ACTUALLY ENJOYED GETTING WET By Robin Leigh Morgan This review is for The Case of the Soggy Vandal, the first real book in The Alex Mysteries of books by the author, Barb Asselin. It’s also the second in the collection of six books written by this author which I’d won through a giveaway on LibraryThing. The following is my honest opinion.Being a child of the 1950’s this series of books reminds me of the Nancy Drew Mysteries written for girls and The Hardy Boys written for boys, buy for much younger audience. This story starts at the end of the school year Alexi [Lexi] and Alexander had first met; but now they’ve become the Best of Friends and those who know these two are now calling them The Alexes because of the sleuthing activities together they’ve been involved in as a team. For an unexplained reason some vandals had apparently targeted Lexi’s home and had destroyed some property in her backyard. At first things seemed to point to one individual, which proved to be wrong as their investigation continued. Towards the end Alex figured out who the real culprit had been, the culprit had been the one no one would have ever suspected. This story is bound to holds its young reader’s interest as they follow the Two Alexes in search for the answer to who did the damage in Lexi’s backyard, which is why I’ve given this book 5 STARS.NOTE: If the spelling smells odd or a word seems out of place it’s because the author has used the Canadian/British spelling or usage of the word. This doesn’t affect book’s enjoyment.

Who has destroyed the flowers and plants Alexis mother bought. The two detectives must search for clues to find the culprit.Barb Asselin is a multifaceted author and she has a winner in the first book of her children's series The Alex Mysteries. What I really like about the series (I read the prequel too) is that Alex and Alexis don't fit in with the popular crowd. They are a bit nerdy and different which makes them special.I received this book free from the author in exchange for a review. Most Christians appear to approach the Bible with awe, much in the same way that they would approach Shakespeare or opera - deep mysteries understood by a few and veiled to the rest of us. However, understanding the Bible depends upon understanding two simple, yet fundamental themes which weave together all of Scripture: Covenant and Kingdom. The whole Bible from beginning to end is about these two things - God forging a relationship with us and then working through us to express his love and power. It is the DNA of the Bible. The better we understand this, the better we grasp the Bible as a whole. This will only lead to good things for us - confidence about what God is saying and a more certain and sure journey of faith as the Scriptures come alive in our hands.

Perfect blend of theory and practical--a must read By WheatonGuy18 I think it's easy to be cynical when you approach a new book about anything missional, particularly a book with one of the defining characteristics being that it's practical and will help teach you "how" to launch, sustain, disciple people in and multiply missional Missional Communities. I certainly was that cynical person. (BTW--Missional Communities as defined in this book are a group of 20-50 people who are on the same mission together with community and spiritual life within the group beginning on the mission field, rather than an added thing). But just a few pages in, you realize this book is something very different. Rather than being a book written a year after the authors discovered something "new", this book was written after 20 years of experimenting, failing, succeeding and growing Missional Communities. It is a wealth of thoughtful reflections, suggestions, cautions and practical steps that could only have been learned on the front line of mission for a LONG period of time. Perhaps more impressive is that the church where this all began (in the UK) became one of the largest churches in Europe quite some time ago through using Missional Communities...and they are just now getting around to writing a book on what they've learned! Also, littered throughout the book are story after story after story of churches that have done this in the United States, so they are often able to illustrate a point with an actual story of an actual MC doing it.So for me, the length of time that went into compiling the information and the array of examples and stories through the United States did a lot to keep down my more cynical nature. The book is divided into 5 Sections: Opening Thoughts, Key Concepts, Launch Guide, MC Life and Case Studies.Part 1 | Opening Thoughts. The book begins with an excellent Introduction that really paints the landscape of the American church in a helpful way. What's strong about the Introduction is that it's written by someone other than the authors who stumbled upon what these guys had been doing and was able to capture that experience well. Essentially, the Introduction captures the feeling of knowing that things are broken, wanting to change it, but not even quite knowing where to start: "Many people were writing about the social theory and theology of movements and mission, but there were no clear practices for doing it. Only a few people were writing practical books on the way forward, and even then it only seemed incrementally different from what had come before. It really wasn't any more "missional." It seemed like there were a lot of thinkers who didn't practice and a lot of practitioners who didn't think."The rest of Part 1 gives a little history as to where Missional Communities came from, a little bit about the authors (which was actually quite interesting) and then defining the terms the authors would be using throughout the book. This was definitely helpful as different people use different terms...well...differently!Part 2 | Key Concepts. The point of this section was to show the broad principles that have shaped MCs in the past 20 years. In other words, what are the BIG THINGS the authors learned along the way that led them to MCs as they are expressed today. If you've read a lot on missional theology or practice, the first half of this section will probably be re-tread, but still helpful for setting the stage for what's to come. However, what got interesting was when they dove into the reason for the size of the groups (20-50 people). They laid out a few very compelling arguments for having groups this size. First, they said while some people define missional communities as small groups with a missional edge/focus to them, they believe it needs to be larger. Why? Because they started there as well and found that "these groups were small enough to care but not large enough to dare." Basically, it's hard to be really effective in mission with such a small group of people. It's not that it can't be, but it's difficult. The second really compelling argument was looking at research done in the 1960's by Edward Hall that showed the different "spaces" that people inhabit: Public Space (75 people or more), Social Space (20-70 people), Personal Space (6-12 people) and Intimate Space (1-2 people) and how we group ourselves in those different spaces. What I really took away was that the research showed that people derive their primary identity from the Social Space...the group of 20-70 people, which most churches don't even have. So rather than having people find their identity for "church" in the big, more anonymous Public Space (the worship service), people will naturally gravitate towards the Social Space, where it's "small enough to care, but large enough to dare." In other words, people know when you're missing, but there's still a mass of people to do something significant. Really good stuff here. The rest of part 2 looks at Missional vs. Attractional, Leadership in MCs, the story of a Missional Community that exemplified all of these concepts (which was really helpful) and a great section on discipleship (which I thought was of particular importance as they made the case that if you don't have a way of investing in, discipling and holding your MC leaders accountable, it will all fall to pieces pretty quickly. Glad they hit on that and how they've learned to do it).Part 3 | Launch Guide. This section is aimed mostly at people looking at making a paradigm shift in more established churches using a Sunday-centric way of being the church. But it also has a GREAT addendum for church planters launching with Missional Communities rather than a worship service, as well as a fascinating chapter on how to grow Missional Communities. Some of the Launch Guide for established churches was a little dense at times and a bit confusing, but it was heaving on details and practical help from people who have done it before. Helpful and really practical.Part 4 | MC Life. This is easily the most practical section of the book. After you've launched Missional Communities...what do you do next? How do you do real mission? What about worship? Teaching? Kids? Finances? Can teenagers be in Missional Communities? How does it relate to the wider church well? What about leadership? How do you define the vision of the group? On and on and on. This was where the authors 20 years of experience with MCs really came to light as they addressed thing after thing. What was really helpful is that they didn't always give an exact answer but a few answers. For instance, on the issue of kids within a Missional Community. Rather than saying, "kids should be in MCs 100% of the time and here's how to do it" or the opposite of that, they listed out three different ways of dealing with kids in a MC (kids are fully integrated, kids are fully separate, kids are integrated some of the time and separate some of the time) and gave pro's and con's from their experience in doing it and helpful for suggestions for how to do each of them. In the end, they said it depends on the MC and the context they find themselves in. Things like that were very helpful and underlined the flexibility of MCs in almost any context. This section will definitely service as a resource guide for people to come back to time and time again. It's a "how-to" book without saying there is only one way to do it. There's a form, but not a formula.Part 5 | Case Studies. The case studies were really helpful in seeing this play out in real life, but I only found the first two to be helpful. They were both church plants that had done it. The second two, both done from established churches starting to use MCs, weren't as strong as one was a newspaper article taken from a local paper about the church and the other was Q&A with the pastor. While interesting to read, they lacked the clarity of the first two case studies.Lastly, the Appendix is full of more notes, details and information that you'd want to reference in the future.Overall, the book was EXCELLENT. It is by far the best book I've read on both the theology and practice of being the church differently in the United States in a way that actually has worked both in Europe as well as North America. If you're at all interested in the future of the church, I'd pick up this book.

Best Resource Available on Missional Communities By Benjamin Sternke (Originally reviewed on my blog at [...]A few weeks ago I read through Launching Missional Communities, a new book by Mike Breen and Alex Absalom. The super short review: it is the single best resource available on Missional Communities (MCs). I absolutely loved it.The main reason this book is so good is that Breen and Absalom are practioners, not just theorists. Now, as an INTP, I can certainly get excited about a robust and elegant theory! But I shared the frustration of the church planter who wrote the introduction to the book. As he was searching books and podcasts for help on cultivating and implementing MCs, he found that "There were a lot of people writing about the social theory and theology of movements and mission, but no clear practices for doing it... It seemed like there were a lot of thinkers who didn't practice and a lot of practitioners who didn't think."The authors of LMC step into this void as practioners who think. Breen practically invented MCs 15 years ago when he was leading St. Thomas' Church in Sheffield, England. Absalom was there with Breen, and has since planted hundreds of MCs and worked with several established churches at a more strategic level, helping them transition to a MC model. Because of this, this book is dripping with wisdom that comes from the blood and guts experience of actually doing this stuff for many years.Full disclosure, too: Mike Breen now lives in the US and leads 3DM, a coaching/consulting ministry helping American churches transition to a more discipling, missional way of being the church. The church plant I'm leading has been part of a Learning Community for the past eight months or so, and in that context I've been taught and coached by both Mike and Alex, so I'm perhaps biased to like this book from the get-go.But whether I'm listening to them in-person or reading their words in this book, I find their input to be refreshingly down-to-earth and eminently practical. They understand the process of transition, what kinds of battles and roadblocks will present themselves, and what kind of resolve it really takes to move a church culture into discipleship and mission. Because of this, a lot of we-know-how-you-feel-but-you-can-do-it! encouragement comes through in this book. There are three main sections to the book, along with a brief intro and a few case studies: 1. Key Concepts (theological, practical, and sociological reasons MCs work) 2. Launch Guide (practical steps to start MCs in your church) 3. Missional Community Life (practical nuts-and-bolts of leading MCs)The Key Concepts section is a great overview of the what and why of MCs: This isn't just re-naming something or making a few tweaks to the small group ministry. There is a qualitative difference going on here, and this section helps people understand some of the underlying ideas that make MCs work. For example, why is it so important for MCs to be "mid-sized?" Why can't we just add a "missional" element to our current small groups and call them MCs? I've written about this before ([...]), but it turns out it really is an issue. Size matters. A lot of churches are discovering these things as they go. For example, my friend Bob Hyatt, who planted a church in Portland several years ago, recently tweeted that they've been "trying to do mission at the Gathering (80-120 people) and home group (6-12) level. Too big and too small respectively."The Launch Guide is an extremely practical (and flexible) plan for introducing MCs into the life of an established church. Lots of great practical advice there. But the final section (Missional Community Life) was probably the most helpful for me. It's simply page after page of nuts-and-bolts on the ins-and-outs of leading MCs: what to do with kids, where to meet, how they grow, how to develop leaders, what to do first, creative ways to worship together, ideas for developing relationships, fresh concepts for mission... etc.In my opinion, this is the single best resource available on MCs, because it's not just about what they are, but also about how to start, lead, and multiply them, from two people who have probably been doing it as long as anyone on the planet. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to understand MCs more fully, but especially to leaders who want some practical wisdom in leading MCs and/or transitioning a church to MCs.

A must-read By WheatonGuy18 I think it's easy to be cynical when you approach a new book about anything missional, particularly a book with one of the defining characteristics being that it's practical and will help teach you "how" to launch, sustain, disciple people in and multiply missional Missional Communities.

I am very sad that this is the final book of the D.O.T.S series, and I really took my time and savored every page. I got angry, I wanted to hug Olivia and kiss Sebastian in all his cuteness towards Olivia. Don't get me wrong, Finn is still the favorite. I really wanted to punch Selene in the face and Cheer Fallon on to not give up.This book just had such a great story on each character. Olivia and her trek thru the woods, how even the tree's helped her. The witches and how they were caught and used as pawns. How Love does conquer all, but not true love (though that helps) but the love for family, the order. How Phoebe, Olivia, Carmen Avery and Stasia are a group of girls that stick together no matter what. How sometimes doing what is right, is above what you want for yourself and most important... you make your own destiny. Everything that is written can be changed. This book was truly the perfect ending to an amazing series. The twists this book took really keeps your attention. I hope that the author, Kristen Day, comes back and does follow up stories to so many of these characters. They are all strong in their own ways and have their own destiny to tell. Be prepared to laugh and cry.Well done Kristen Day, Well done!!!

It was a believable end to the story that wasn't rushed, and answered most questions I had. Thank you to Kristen Day for sharing a wonderful piece of your mind with me!That being said I did have some qualms. There were times when a characters name was used incorrectly, or they referred to themselves in the the person because the author got the POV wrong. It didn't hurt the story for me, but impacted me enough that I feel I have to tell you about it.Warning SPOILER***********************†*********************SPOILER***************************SPOILER********Don't look I you don't want to know....I also got really mad that the whole time the Nereids were losing their essence Stasia didn't just pull essence from the moon. It helped her when she didn't even know it could way back when Nadia was holding Finn captive, but now all of a sudden the moonlight does nothing for her??Back to good things ******that are still spoilers******I love that Sebastian and Olivia get a HEAAlso after Stasia died I wasn't really affected (part of me figured she would be back) but reading how devastating it was for Finn brought tears to my eyes. Ms. Day I will forever be searching for my own Finnegan Morrison!Again thank you!!!

I loved every book and couldn't wait for more. I wish this series hadn't of ended. Wow, is all I can say. I am so hooked on these characters. The writing was just enough romance to bring you heart stopping scenes but still left it clean enough to enjoy reading. The suspense was out of this world and I fell in love with all of the characters. I am so glad the last two books gave us different POV's as well. Get this series today!

By Momtographer [[VIDEOID:57288ea0fded6dd669e55807efb71cad]] My son is 7 and he loves this book! We use it as a supplement to school and a way to explore his interests in a scholarly way! I have included a video review. He currently has a large stack of animal books on top of his journal to take out and learn. Use it in the summer or Christmas break! Even public/private school kids can get some great learning done over summer vacation with this! And keeping it fun!**I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review. I by no means review these at a high rating due to that fact...this review is honest and I love her books!

Our homeschool style has been described as "relaxed," "eclectic," and "unschoolish," to name a few. I was seeking a little more direction for my kids' interest-lead reading and these journals have been exactly what I've been looking for for the last 3 years! There are lots of repeats, but because they choose their books based on their interests, they don't seem to mind. I sit with my non-reader to do the pages and it has been one part of our homeschool day that he consistently enjoys. This particular journal is SMALLER than the other journals for readers. I rated 4 stars because I feel that the price is steep for what it is. Even so, I would purchase again if my kids continue to enjoy journaling.
