It has given insight and definitely helped with understand a few people I know who exhibit these same types of behaviors. I was never able to exactly pinpoint what was going on with these relationships but that I always left feeling so frustrated, mad, and confused. It nearly drove me insane. But after reading this... OMG! It described their (the people I know) behaviors perfectly. I no longer feel so confused but more relieved knowing I can finally see what the heck is going on. (-this behavior really is the perfect crime without definite evidence. If you say something without proof, it makes you look like the crazy one.) I'm definitely going to try out some of these helpful steps. Being around passive aggressive people can literally make you go madddd...

I thought it would give true pointers and tips for situations like when passive aggressive ppl try to manipulate you with the silent treatment and deny covert things they do but it wasn't in here. I really didn't receive any new knowledge and it seemed as if the writer was off in their basic definition/description of passive aggressive ppl. I do not recommend his book to those that want more than an overview.

Marsh Fazio has brought to light an issue many scholars try to hide from in Matthew's Gospel: Jesus in fact gave two separate commissions to two separate audiences with two separate messages. This book tackles head on a thorny issue that has garnered controversy from both Dispensational and Covenantal camps. With a balanced treatment respecting both theological positions, Fazio manages to apply unbiased exegesis to Matthew's account (with support from Luke's Gospel) to reach the startling, yet true, conclusion that the majority Jesus' earthly ministry had a different goal and message--distinct from what can mistakenly be applied by today's Church--than His post-resurrection ministry. The fact that the author demonstrates this conclusively in just over 100 pages shows his mastery of Biblical exegesis, and his sympathies toward the busy pastor, scholar, and student who will for sure benefit from this book. Outstanding read.

Rohm Professor Fazio has written a comprehensive yet concise exegetical treatment of the two commissions proclaimed by the Lord Jesus Christ in the gospel of Matthew. To whom were the two commissions given, and what were the contents and purposes of each are complex are debatable subjects amongst dispensational and covenantal theologians. Fazio handles these challenging questions in a straightforward and clear manner that never strays from Scripture. Strategically placed quotes from eminent scholars effectively add a dimension to the writing and aid in understanding. The thoughtful reading of this excellent book can only benefit proponents of both camps, as well as any reader seeking to know more about God and His Word.Thomas A. Prof. Fazio does a thorough job of delineating the real distinctions between different commands of Jesus as seen in the Gospel of Matthew. The emphasis of Christians throughout the centuries has been focused on what we know as the Great Commission, found in Matt. 28:19-20. However, we have often minimized and deemphasized the command of Christ seen in Matt. 10:5-7, where He told the disciples to witness about the kingdom of heaven solely to the Jews. Prof. Fazio meticulously examines the context, background, actual commands, implications, etc. of these clearly unique evangelistic mandates. He frequently participates in significant exegesis, which provides a lot of depth to this work.I benefited from Prof. Fazio's thorough examination of a variety of scholars from a broad range of viewpoints. He obviously sought to interact with the strongest positions he could find, instead of simply attempting to find evidence in his own favor. In my opinion (as a dispensationalist), Prof. Fazio did not draw some of the connections that I believe become apparent regarding the nature of Israel within God's plan. However, I do respect his specific focus in this book, and I do think that it makes his case stronger in a sense. He does not use the distinct mandates as a premise for another argument (although I do believe that would be doctrinally valid), but rather simply seeks to incontrovertibly establish a singular point, namely that there are two distinct missionary mandates within Matthew.In conclusion, I would recommend this book to anyone who is researching this topic or is simply interested in learning more about the ministry and message of Jesus Christ. This book does not make a very broad argument, but within the parameters it sets for itself it makes a very powerful and convincing argument. Prof. Fazio balances readability and rich content to provide a tremendous resource for any student of the Bible.Full disclosure: I am in Prof. Fazio's class, and a thorough review of his book is allowed to substitute for a reading evaluation paper. However, Prof. Fazio himself is not the one grading this submission, and this review is being graded for objectivity and thoroughness. I have no compulsion to agree with him, and my perspective is my own.

The lovely colors and wonderous cards are nothing short of spectacular. I shortly after began reading the in depth yet beautiful book that comes with it and fell in love with each card's story and symbolism. The cards are a bit bigger than traditional sets, but it is for the better - I love being able to see the artists style and symbolism on a larger and more detailed scale. If you enjoy the tarot, you will love this product, I know I do!

However one would have to get use to it for a while if you are using this to do "tarot readings" too many of the art are all over the place and can be confusing for one to give a reading without using the book. I would keep this deck for its art...but that is about it....all the other few reviews here I saw were "Five stars" but unfortunately I was not able to relate or feel all that WOW effect with this deck...This deck will be on my collection but I will not be connecting with it much at all...when I try it is a headache to look at instinctively. AND the price I felt TOO high for this deck...it is okay but to ME definitely NOT worth over $40 and could just not connect with it to use as a TAROT deck.

Treat yourselves, all you tarot afficianados.After working with the beautiful deck I wanted to add to this glowing review. This deck's book is full of explanations for each card plus thereare additional cards bringing the deck to 102 cards in total. I found the descriptions were so poetic and there is a myth created from pageone of the book as a thread throughout the author's deck. Yet, this does not make it easier to read the cards. Blessedly there are also straight- forward meanings for upright and reversal cards. Learning the mythology of this deck would be icing on the cake for me.The cards are very large and so not easy to shuffle and handle. I am not a professional reader so I would prefer using this deck as one to meditate with and upon and be exploring what I see through each incredible and very complex image. The author is a huge fan of comics which is reflected in the cards' beautiful illustations. This is a very bold and daring deck pictorially for me. I accept the challenge!

The creators of Minions were involved in the process so it definitely has the feel of the Minions. Really enjoyed this!

I purchased this mainly for her to enjoy looking at pictures and to learn about how one reads comic strips. She has been enjoying it quite a bit as we read this together.The overall book is of a high quality. The illustrations are top notch and the stories are cute. I was really impressed with how well the illustrators did in terms of telling the story. There si not much dialogue (of course, they're minions!) beyond a few sounds which the minions make to convey an emotion. I know that as a kid, I would have loved to have had this book. There are so many small details in the drawings which I always enjoyed exploring.

Everything a Beginning Reader Needs in a Book By Deborah Fidelman This book has all the things that early readers need and like: humor, pictures that tell part of the story, just a few words on a page, an easily read font and rhyming. I have kid tested it with several struggling readers, they all loved it.

One of my newest favorite writers By Chris Hill Over the last twenty years (when I became interested in spiritual sorts of things) I have read in excess of two thousand books having to do with spirituality, atheism, religion, New Age, agnosticism, philosophy, science, etc., you get the gist. I learned a great deal from many of the authors producing these works, that is, I learned much about their perspectives, and their opinions about the perspectives of others. Over the last couple of years, Mark Craig has produced a few books which I find myself going back to over and over again. Much of what he shares does indeed resonate with me, and then there are some things he shares about which I find it difficult to get on board with him. I attribute this simply to my critical thinking and that I'm contrarian by nature, it appears. I really appreciate the author's writing style, organization, and ability to articulate fairly complex concepts to the average reader, assuming that said reader is willing to take the time to read slowly and consider what is being offered for their contemplation. To date, I have given each of Mark Craig's books a five-star rating, and I look forward to future writings if he should so continue to move in such a direction.

Hours and hours of entertainment By STL via VT My 3.5 yo absolutely loves the Roger Priddy sticker activity books, and this one is her favorite. Hours and hours of entertainment. Some caveats: it is almost too big; for airplane/car travel it is a bit unwieldy. Also, some of the activities only have 3 stickers per page or are duplicative of other pages. Seems kind of lame to me (I'd rather have a shorter book with more stickers/activities per page) but my daughter doesn't mind- I think she prefers getting to do extra pages. There is also inevitably a lot of flipping back and forth. My daughter can't quite manage it on her own yet, but I cut out part of the sticker pages so she she can do a few pages at a time independently.

By Jessica Stephens I recieved this book from a friend for my 2.5yr old!She absolutely loves it and can keep her entertained for a good amount of time!It is definitely a lifesaver when I have to take her places with me (ie. Doctor appt.)

By Pennsylvania Joy In reading another of this author's books, Amazing Grace, I read about the lead character in this novella. He was one of the 2 men the mail order bride was corresponding with until he cut it off. This is the his story, why he was looking for a bride and how he met his need closer to home. It is a short but sweet romance. I wish it had been longer.

Likable characters and authentic to the time period, I'd highly recommend this story to those who enjoy historical Christian romance. When Cole realizes he needs help raising his siblings orphaned children he doesn't realize help is closer than he ever dreamed.

But after the sudden death of Cole's sister and her husband their children need a home. Although even with his foreman taking care of his ranch for him, after a week of trying to care for the grieving children he knows he needs help. But hired help will not work, the children need a real mother. Which means Cole needs to find a wife, and soon.Out of the 3 novellas Faith Blum released this summer I Love Thee has got to be my favorite! I felt like I knew the characters from the beginning, and the plot and story flow were great. I remembered a brief scene about these characters in Faith Blum's novel, Amazing Grace, so I loved seeing how their full story went and how the ending happened. And even though it is a novella I did not feel like I was missing any pieces of the story. I really enjoyed this novella and I highly recommend it!

The main character, Deihlia, is a person whose bedrock strength and realness is matched only by her charm and magic. We are all, in one way or another, seeking truth, but there is no getting there without first embracing our own authenticity. As I read this book, I came to think of Deihlia as a kind of wild patron saint of authenticity, a character whose very presence vaults others into a new and greater sense of themselves. From family to friends, from college buddies to workmates, Deihlia effortlessly, and with great love and humor, shows other characters in the book how to reach for their own particular stars, how to sync their heartbeat to their dreams and take action in service of profligate possibility.Diane Fraser is a poet, and her work in that genre is evident in this text – a lyric thrum amplifies her direct, clean prose. Fraser’s storytelling will make you want to turn the pages; you will nonetheless find yourself lingering over the richness of her language and the rhythmic intelligence of her prose. I recommend this book for its beauty of expression as well its vivid story of courage, resilience and creativity on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. You will come away from Growing Up Superheroes feeling like you had a private audience with a funny, wily, tricksterish master of wisdom and fun; you will come away feeling inducted into the tribe of Deihlia Nye.

Bardi This was an outstanding memoir/bio, and it would make a great gift for teens or adults, especially anyone working through changes in identity or learning about what it means to have a physical disability. Fraser deserves the highest praise for what other reviewers have rightly called a "gift." I'm a psychologist who has worked at a college known for serving people with disabilities (like the one mentioned in the book), and I have read many stories that try too hard to teach or prove something about the challenges that people with disabilities face. The worst examples take a condescending or cheerleading tone about people's accomplishments in adversity, and they bury the lead by failing to capture human uniqueness. Diane Fraser gives us something quite different. Each of the 1 to 5 page stories about Deihlia Nye (the author's niece) are highly vivid glimpses of all aspects of a well-lived life, and as the reader we learn the facts about Deihlia's circumstances, yet the personal and emotional impacts of those facts are brought out through mostly everyday moments and interactions with her friends and family. There is a wonderful parallel that emerges between the author's loving and non-judgmental storytelling about her niece's life and Deihlia's own engaging lack of self-consciousness in her lustful quest to experience every bit of it. After reading the book I wanted to be less judgmental and more active with myself and others. And like Deihlia, I wanted to have more fun (even if it's the sketchy kind), meet more interesting people, and let life take me where it wants to go. I was not surprised to learn that Diane Fraser is a poet. She is expert at communicating the meaning of the smallest moments, and she rarely tells us directly who Deihlia is. You just come to know Deihlia so well, and all too soon, to reach the end of her stories.

When a soul comes into the world with severe physical disabilities and her family is told she won't make it - what can truly happen next and what kind of life can she hope to have if she does survive. Diane Fraser balances the memories of Deihlia's physical struggles, her operations, her life in a wheelchair, with stories of a fabulous and flawed young woman who seemed fearless in the face of obstacles and who possessed a wisdom and generosity of spirit that take many of us a lifetime to master. I found myself understanding Deihlia's world and marveling at her ability to get the most out of every relationship and situation no matter how difficult through Diane's expert writing.As her friends share their stories of the impact Deihlia made in their lives, we can't help but begin to miss her ourselves. Diane has not let her grief pull her under. From her first introduction to her niece she has been faithful in loving this mischievous force of nature and to magically fulfilling her promise to Deihlia to tell her story.Hopefully this book will help others faced with Deihlia's challenges to be pulled forward ... to recognize that although disabilities can shorten the length of a life, they can't touch it's depth and meaning.

Beautiful Cover but wish it had More Features By Amazon Customer Let's face it; when it comes to little girls, appearance does make a huge difference with what appeals to them. My daughter is six and really attracted to anything bright, feminine and especially sparkly!The girls Slimline Bible from Tyndale was definitely created with little girls like mine in mind. It's got it all; the colors, the sparkle and the softness!The cover is a nice, soft texture that my daughter loves to rub her fingers on while she's holding the Bible. There's just something about that texture that appeals to them. It's is edged in a sparkly silver that is hard to see in pictures but really shines in person! The edge of the pages are a bright purple color that really pops in contrast to the blue and sparkly silver. It's a little girls colorful delight!The Bible is the New Living Translation which I really like for kids because it seems the easiest for them to understand.When you open it, the first page is a dedication page is super hot pink! I like the verse that is shared there because it speaks of boldness and everything about this Bible is BOLD!Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence. Ephesians 3:12What better message to send our little girls!After that, the Bible is pretty much your standard typical Bible which I was a little disappointed in. I expected more special features for little girls. They are regular thin pages with a concordance/dictionary in the back and some maps.Another thing I thought was missing was Jesus's words written in red. I think every Bible should have this but especially for children to help distinguish his words for them. The Bible is complex and hard to understand so any simplification for them is helpful.Basically I love what is there but just wish there were more. By Cris Ruffolo Chic Bible (Girls Slimline Edition New Living Translation)Yes, this is a Bible!It's hard to believe that at the outset because for the longest time, we have been used to the intimidating look of the Bible: thick, brown or black, and printed in small letter fonts.Tyndale House turned this around by coming out with a chic and hip Bible with features that also keeps us with the changing times.The look is downright attractive.It has an electric blue felted front cover with the word "LOVE" printed on top in neon pink font with yellow green outline. The cover's edges are covered in what appeared to be as laminated silver dust. The book spine reads: "Holy Bible NLT (New Living Translation)". The book marker is a neon orange ribbon and the page edges are in purple color. The inside front cover features a quote from the Book of Ephesians printed in white font against a neon pink background. it features a 53-page dictionary to locate passages on various topics, a 365-day reading plan, and eight pages of full-color maps.This is the prettiest Bible in the history of printed material!Note that this is a Bible in New Living Translation. Simply put, this Bible is a translation of the Bible in modern English from the original Hebrew and Greek.Why is there a need to do this?Because there is a need to reach out to the younger readers who may find the previous Bible translations as "hard to digest". The NLT version is easier to read and understand. I like how they explained this need in the introduction to the NLT: "It is evident in the Scripture that the biblical documents were written to be read aloud, often in public workshop... It is still the case today that more people will hear the Bible read aloud in church than are likely to read it for themselves. Therefore, a new translation must communicate with clarity and power when it is read publicly."It added: "Clarity was a primary goal for the NLT translations, not only to facilitate private reading and understanding, but also to ensure that it would be excellent for public reading and make an immediate and powerful impact on any listener.This Slimline Edition also comes in different designs for Guys, Kids, and Teens. I love this Bible so much I am buying two more copies for two friends who just got married. Yes, wedding gifts for them!Reading the word of God, in public and private, is that cool!

When they can read and understand God’s Word, God can work in their hearts!What I Thought . . .It is cute and girly. It's pretty. Practical? Not so much.The New Living Translation is a great translation for young readers.But, cute, pretty and girly isn't the only reason to purchase a Bible for a child.This Bible is marketed as a Deluxe Edition. In my opinion its a similar edition with a new cover. I don't really see anything extra special about this edition. The reading plan is a standard reading plan you would find in other editions. The concordance is also standard.I was disappointed that this edition didn't provide any margin space at all. With the new trend of Bible Journaling I expected something different. I don't think that the pages would stand up to writing. Or even underlining. The type is very small.I was a teenager when The Living Bible Translation first came out. I have a paperback edition that is written in. Verses are underlined. The pages are nice heavy paper that withstood markers and highlighters. And some 40 years latter is still in excellent condition.Such good condition that I am using it instead of purchasing a new Bible for journaling.The Bible from my late teenage years holds many memories for me. To be able to use it in my current season to delve deeper is very special to me.A Bible is meant to be used. A Bible is meant to be respected. But I think just as important in a respectful way it's meant to be a little abused. Because abused in a respectful way means it's being used.So do I want to give my child or grandchild a Bible that they'll probably write in and mark up with fancy gel pens and markers. My concern is this edition would not stand up to that kind of abuse which to me is not very practical. And possibly frustrating to a child.I think I'll keep shopping.How do I rate this edition? Pretty not Practical. Honestly for those reasons this edition of the New Living Translation Bible for Girls receives 3 1/2 stars. By Kenneth Griffin Jr This book breaks down the awakening process in such a basic way that I had goosebumps while reading it. The author's ability to explain to the reader exactly what is needed to awaken is something that I have longed for, but not been able to find, in many other spiritual awakening books. The author's direct, clear style of writing leaves you with clarity of an awakened path. His description of the ego ~ and the power of the Divinity within.. totally resonated for me. If you are on a spiritual path or considering answering the 'call' ..this book is for you. It'll give guidance and clarity to anyone who takes the journey of awakening.

Excellent guide to Work and Sirituality By sramesh@clemson.edu 'Karma Yoga' shows that we can attain the so called self-realization through just sheer hard work. You need not go to the mountains and meditate to attain self-realization, just by proper attitude and hard work one can achieve this. Reading this book alone is not enough, unless one follows what is said in the book, it will be difficult the appreciate the contents. Though it is a small, consise and easy-to-read book, the reader should have some sort of background on ancient Hindu Scriptures, otherwise certain sections of 'Karma Yoga' may be difficult to comprehend.

Great book of Knowledege By Windthinker While this book is full of great knowledge and extremely well written, these teachings I realize are very difficult to follow.Although reading the book reaffirmed many ideals to live by, I still have missed the main point, that is why only 3 stars.The main point of Karma Yoga is do incessant and selfless work.But what is the work?I read the book and several chapters over again and do not understand what is meant by "work".I have and need a job and work incessantly at my job. It states not to work for any gains, such as money, but I need to pay my bills.So this "work" doesn't count?Maybe some one can give me a clearer answer.

There a lot of concepts of Karma Yoga that can be put into practice by doing things a little differently or thinking a little differently about Karma or the work. Work is worship if a feeling that can be developed by reading this book.
