Ok but not interesting enough By Hannah Robison I did enjoy the study on the book of James but felt it to not be as in depth as I thought it would be. It was very predictable and made it hard to stick to because of that (for me personally). I knew every day the routine. It was read the whole chapter on Monday then the rest of the week break the chapter down. Every day see if those verses had instructions on faith. I would have liked to have been give more thought provoking questions about the scripture and more verses from the bible to read to go along with it. There were some days it just didn't seem like enough. I wasn't a fan of the format was all. Maybe it's my age?

I love that she is intentional with her format. Each week I walked away with new insight and understanding of the book of James. I actually used a lot of my reflections and notes to write two different talks given on a recent global mission trip. The lessons I shared from this study were well received by both audiences I addressed. I am grateful for her investment of time and heart to write and to teach through her Bible studies.

By Tammy The study was an excellent resource to help give me a deeper understanding of the book of James. The lessons were structured helping me to start looking deeper as I read and reread the chapters and verses. For me, the structured outline of the study brought about remembrance. It helped me to not just read the Bible, but begin to live it and apply it to my life. In my opinion, Bible Studies are a springboard to help dig deeper in to the Word of God and this did just that!

I ordered this book for my 7.5 year old and while I haven't given it to him yet, I just finished reading it and really enjoyed it. Funny, engaging story, and I'm pretty sure my kid will relate to Jaden. My one "con" about the book is that making Jaden a kindergartner seems an odd choice. While some kindergartners will be able to read this book independently, I feel the target audience is 1st-3rd grade. Jaden is able to read and write at a precocious level for a kindergartner (he writes a 7-page petition!), which is all well and good, but I suspect it's slightly older children who will most be able to relate to him. My worry is that kids in the 1st-3rd grade range who might be drawn to this book for its humor, illustrations, and storyline, might be "turned off" upon learning that the protagonist is younger than them. I'm particularly thinking of kids who are reluctant readers in the first place.

Hilarious story with an empowering message By Hagit Oron JT is a very determinate kindergartner who LOVES screens, but his parents don't allow him any screen time. JT isn't discouraged, quite the opposite, he does everything he can to get himself some screen time, and apparently he can do a lot.This is a very funny story with an empowering message to the reader - if you want something, you have to pursue it and never give up. If it doesn't work try another way and another way and don't rest until you achieve your goal.The black & white illustrations are amazing, they add another layer to the story.

By Jim parker Today I was browsing on the Kindle Store for some new, unique Minecraft books when I thought, "Hey, I haven't looked at Crafty Nichole's in a while. I'll see if there are any new releases." At the top of the list was this book. I downloaded it immediately and began reading. I loved the story itself but even better was the news that Crafty Nichole Book 50 (Congratulations!) would be the next installment in the Angry Alex series. Thank you!

By Bill Book is amazing!!!i love this book cuz.most minecraft books dont include guardians and i thonk it is very cool to include something different. :) So basically this guardian is very curious of what the elder guardians are guarding which gets the guardian in huge trouble.I love this book and i hope you will to. :) :) :) -Ivy

It is not a list of Bible promises; those books are becoming so cliche’.For me, a closet intercessor, I would love to have this book in print so I can use it for a teaching tool. I take seriously God's Word that says I should prayer without ceasing. (1 Thes. 5:17) However, some days, I get down and I feel I could use some guidance in the area of prayer. Prayer Quotes by Kevin Shorter offers over 2500 prayer quotes to help you think about your prayer life from different angles.Kevin Shorter's e-book is currently free on Kindle.This electronic book has quotes from over 400 authors arranged topically. The quotes are encouraging and uplifting. However, in addition to the quotes, Kevin Shorter has including articles in the book entitled, Seven tips to a Better Prayer Life, 5 Ways to Find God, 10 Things to Pray for Your Husband and 10 Things to Pray for Your Wife, and several other helpful articles along this line. In the introduction of the book, he shares that he started a blog called the Prayer Coach to help remove the burden of prayer from so many Christians who feel that they don't do enough and want to see improvement in their prayer life.I found this book to be helpful in my prayer life. I do like seeing all of the encouraging quotes, but I also appreciated the helpful articles too. I would encourage anyone who wants to improve their prayer life to get a copy.

Some topics deal with why we should pray, the role of prayer, and the benefits of prayer. Shorter also includes quotes about the roles of the Persons of the Trinity in prayer.The quotes come from a variety of people. Some are contemporary Christian authors, like Max Lucado and Bill Johnson. Some are people noted in history, such as Blaise Pascal and Martin Luther. There are many people quoted that I have never heard of.Shorter has included several articles at the end of the collection of quotes. The articles are very helpful to anyone wanting encouragement in their prayer life. He has tips to a better prayer life, ways to find God, and ways to effectively pray for others. He has also included great prayer lists, with suggestions in praying for your husband, wife, kids, marriage, and pastor.This is not the kind of book one would read cover to cover. One could look at the subject headings at the beginning of the book and find quotes in the area of interest. I did not find the quotes as inspiring as the articles by the author.I received a complimentary ebook from the author for the purpose of an independent and honest review.

Rocky Henriques has woven together scripture, Biblical Truths, and parables in such a meaningful way, to give us a more personal look at Jesus as the best friend we will ever have. He shows us through scripture just how much Jesus pursues us as His friend, no matter what the world says about us. What a comfort! Thank you, Rocky Henriques, for putting me in the tree as Zacchaeus so I could feel the special attention of Jesus as He called out to Zacchaeus (me). Jesus is the BEST friend you could ever have and Rocky does an excellent job of sharing the scriptures that back up this statement. Very reader friendly and easy to read and understand. Highly recommend this short read. I really liked it.

From the Inside Flap The Power of a Story: Stories are an ancient way to transmit wisdom. They have the fantastic power to invoke a primal past, to impart a mythic dimension to our contemporary lives, to speak in the symbolic language of dreams, and to spark our prophetic imagination in creative ways that logic, law, and theory are simply incapable of achieving. Stories re-enchant our world. Sometimes a story is the easiest way to impart a profound idea in the simplest form. This is because a story has a special method of entering into our consciousness in order to impart essential information in a non-intrusive manner. When one person tells another what to do, the natural defenses of the ego instinctively arise in resistance to the information that is being imparted. But a story has a more gentle and roundabout way of entering into our psyche without being noticed. At first the underlying message of the story is planted like a seed in the soil of our subliminal subconscious; but slowly the teaching of the tale begins to blossom and bloom within the clear light of our conscious mind. In due time, the story can help us wake up to what is true and real in our lives. From within our near comatose state of spiritual slumber we can be so resistant to being woken up that only a story can sneak past our defense mechanisms in order to really wake us up. The purpose of these stories is to wake us up. Some of them will surprise us, some will jolt us, some will seem oddly familiar, and others completely archaic and obscure. Yet, with the help of the accompanying commentary, the hope and prayer is that each story will impart a novel life lesson and serve to wake us up in some sense; pushing us all to go a little bit deeper, to move a little bit further along the path of our soul's journey.

By An Amazon Customer I have learned with Rav Dovber Pinson for ten years and have read nearly all of his books and listened to hundreds of his Talmud and KABBALAH teachings. Reading and absorbing Mystic tales of the Emek Hamelech was and continues to be a transformative experience for me. Through beautifully told stories taken from the Kabbalistic book Emek HaMelech, Rav Pinson then brings them alive through deep and accessible commentaries for each story. I felt transported back to 16th century Tsfat and visualized sitting by the Ari'zl feet learning from him.
