No rules for the Kingdom and the people create a problem. They don't go to school, don't pick up the garbage, the staff in the Palace leave and in general, chaos rules.Finally, Nancie has to make another ruling. And, in this one Nancie says that there must be some rules to be followed.Cute little story with nice drawings.Highly recommended.

The author, Leela Hope, gives us a story involving Princess Nancie with several lessons learned. Princess Nancie was tired of doing what she was told. Because she was a Princess, she could make her own rules, and she went out on her porch and ruled that everyone could do what they wanted. Of course,chaos was created. When you read this story you will discover what occurred and how Princess Nancie handled this mess.Parents/teachers will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children will enjoy discussing what they would do if they could do whatever they wanted. And, then, they might discuss the lessons learned. The illustrations are bright and beautiful, depicting the adventures of Princess Nancie. One of the best parts of this book is that the author wrote it in rhyme. Silk, Author/Reviewer This children's book is a delightful bedtime story about Princess Nancie in the Kingdom of Arwyn. For a princess, she's not very fancy. She has fun making mud pies, not caring about how dirty she becomes, or even if she has rips in her clothing. She seldom listens to her royal advisers, she doesn't like their rules and wants to do whatever she wants ... and soon the Kingdom dwellers believe they can do whatever they want, too! Soon, chaos breaks out with activity and rebellious noise, kids aren't going to school, and some are pawing through Nancie's closet of clothes! The butlers and kitchen staff left to do their thing! Nancy stands on her balcony with a message for the people. Wow, Nancie sure fixes the problems she created! This is a good lesson book about rules and the importance following them. It's sweetly written with rhyming dialog. Illustrations are charming and colorful and, I must say ... Nancie is the cutest princess of all!

By Read to Kids I loved reading to my daughter as she was growing up, and now I love reading to my granddaughter, so I appreciate excellent books for young readers. The Crime Cats series is one I support wholeheartedly. Crime Cats: The Deadly Scarab takes readers (and listeners) on another exciting adventure through the streets of Clintonville, and now beyond, with Jonas Shurmann and his furry friends Neil Higgins and CatBob. As in the other Crime Cats books, the well-crafted prose flows beautifully, whether read silently or aloud, and young readers will appreciate that the author does not talk down to them. SO MUCH to love in all of the books in this series! Introduce the kids you love to Crime Cats – and enjoy reading the books along with them!

By William A Browne Follow along with Jonas, CatBob, and Neil Higgins take on their latest and most trying mystery yet, The Deadly Scarab. In this third installment of Crime Cats, Wolfgang Parker further develops his characters and introduces new ones and even a new superhero in competition with Chicken-Boy.With The Deadly Scarab, Mr. Parker has further impressed me. His writing ability developing a great story is exceptional, especially with this, an even more complex plot line. It is again set in the Columbus, OH neighborhood of Clintonville. Cat lovers of all ages will enjoy it. All I can say is, thank you to the author and illustrator, Wolfgang Parker; and I can't wait to see what comes next.

It's a great deal! 123 pages. It is just not right writing a negative review on one of your "Top Loved" authors. C'mon. Let. Cube Kid make a living. I don't care because I paid for the story with joy.A well-writtin story, with lots of thrill. Once you read the first 15 pages, you just want to blast through the whole. A page turner for young readers. I know, there are millions of people who are obsessed with Minecraft. Those kids would definitely want to grab this book.I think that Cube Kid has overworked. I mean, just think about it. He was sleep deprived. Trying his best to make books for you. Cube Kid releases his books as fast as he can. Cube Kid, there is no need to rush. Since Cube Kid treats you guys nicely, and tries his best to entertain you guys, you should treat him nicely too.So am I clear? I guess so.This book is not one of those "pieces of trash". It has a simple and well-structured plot, making you guys hooked into the book. I find Cube Kid's books truly enjoyable. He edited his stories carefully. This is not a lie however, because I found absolutely 0 typos or grammatical errors. The books Cube Kid recommended were awesome too. This book has that special something that makes it so great. The description of the first book was quite normal, with just a normal villager kid dealing with small matters and bullies, and Cube Kid has that special something that can transform a normal story on a normal villager kid into a cool warrior going up against Herobrine and his forces. Seriously, many Minecraft adventure stories stink, and a guy new to the series will read the description of the first book and he will be, like, "I've read so many horrible Minecraft adventure books and this isn't even an adventure book! It must stink!" And when you hear that comment, you go over to him and say, "LOLOLOL YOU ARE SUCH A NOOB THIS BOOK IS WRITTEN BY THE GREATEST AUTHOR OF ALL TIME!!!" And he says, "Let's see about that!" Then the next thing you know, he is shouting, "OMG THIS SERIES IS EPIC!!!" And he starts spreading the news about this epic book. You should do that too. Anyway, I suggest Runt's suit to be blue with many white marks. That will make him a marine ninja or something. Unfortunately I'm using Kindle PaperWhite, so I can only imagine the colours. By the way, I wasted my last review reviewing other people's reviews. Sorry for that ranting. I didn't know it was an accident. Well, Cube Kid made up for that by making the previous book free. Fantastic information By B Nelson This is a fantastic overview of astrology written in an easy-to-understand manner. “ASTROLOGY: The Definitive Guide to Zodiac Signs, Compatibility, Career and Relationships” by Michelle Hall, may not actually be the definitive guide, but it covers a lot. I’ve read a lot of books on astrology and I’m amazed at how much the author packed in this little book. She covers history and meaning, uses, career, relationships, success, etc. Well done. Recommended. Four stars.

About the Author Born in Bay Shore, New York on July 27th, 1970 at 19:38, Vic DiCara was fascinated with astronomy as a young child. He became a hardcore-punk guitarist and songwriter in his late teens, and soon thereafter became deeply involved in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, living for roughly 8 years in temples - studying elaborately and embarking on months of extended pilgrimages to the holy places of India. He was initiated into the Gaudiya-sampradaya and received the name Vraja Kishor das, along with the brahminical thread as a symbol of his dedication to study. He studied sacred Sanskrit texts extensively under his guru, wrote prolifically to a large international audience, and was the founding headmaster of the first branch of the Vrindavana Institute for Higher Education in the Western world. At 28 he married and was blessed with a beautiful family. He began practicing astrology about a decade later and, thanks to his thorough spiritual background and familiarity with Sanskrit, quickly became recognized as an important exponent of the ancient science. He currently lives in Japan, where he practices bhakti-yoga, gives astrological readings, and translates sacred bhakti texts into English. Magic in the Mix, by Annie Barrows

From School Library Journal Gr 3–6—Molly and Miri haven't always been sisters; they were brought together through magic. Molly is originally from 1935 but became Miri's fraternal twin in Miri's contemporary family (with two other sets of twins; one older, one younger) when they traveled through time. The girls travel first to 1918, where Molly meets her mother and wonders if she's supposed to prevent her parents from meeting in order to save her mother from dying in childbirth. But there seems to be another task in store for the girls. They travel to the 1860s, accidentally joined by their brothers, who are dressed as Union soldiers for a Civil War reenactment and are captured by Confederate soldiers. The girls must figure out how to save their brothers and return to their own time. The fast-paced plot is dramatically narrated by Cris Dukehart, with Southern accents, deep voices, or a snarky tone for villains and much lighter voices for the children. The narration accentuates the drama of the action and the children's contemporary language. Not all questions are addressed, however, leaving open the possibility of another time-travel tale.—Maria Salvadore, District of Columbia

By delicateflower152 Annie Barrows’ latest book “Magic in the Mix” grants that wish – it is another magical adventure involving the “twins” Molly and Miri Gill. Annie Barrows provides enough background information about the Gills and about Molly and Miri that readers need not have read “The Magic Half” to understand and enjoy this book. Humor and family fun make this book delightful to read alone or to read aloud at bedtime.In this continuation of their story, the two girls are able to time-travel back-and-forth between the past and the present. Annie Barrows’ use of their home and the renovation of its various architectural features provide the vehicle by which the two come and go. Jumping from the back porch into 1918, into the present through the front door, and back to a Civil War battle aftermath through a window, the girls discover different facets of Molly’s family history. Their two brothers Ray and Robbie accidentally return to the Civil War period and enter the girls’ time-travel adventures. That necessitates Molly’s and Miri’s return time-travel to 1918 and the help of Molly’s mother, Maudie, plus the counsel of her grandmother May, who is aware of the magic that affects the girls’ lives and the future. The girls engineer their brothers’ rescue and are able to return to the present day.“Magic in the Mix” is fun to read. The mixture of history from the Civil War era, the early 20th century, and contemporary times adds to the story. It may foster a curiosity in young readers about the historical events that form a part of the narrative. The book is not difficult to read; the events taking place in the lives of the characters are easy to follow. Characters – with the exception of Flo, Molly’s embittered aunt - are individuals that readers would enjoy meeting. “Magic in the Mix” is an appropriate book for the target audience. However, parents should be aware that in the “Author’s Note”, Annie Barrows quotes General Sheridan saying “G** D**** …” when he becomes enraged about a situation. Adults or older teens looking for a light, enjoyable book to read may also enjoy “Magic in the Mix”.

Weaver My daughter loves Annie Barrows's Ivy and Bean series, so I jumped at the chance for another book by the same author. This is a book with a bit more than just fun adventures going for it. Twin sisters Molly and Miri do go on adventures, but their experiences are a little deeper in this book.The story is imaginative, touching, and educational all at once. Young readers will learn a little bit about the Great Depression and a little bit about the Civil War. What they will learn about the most, though, is the importance of family, friendship, and believing in one’s self. They will learn that people in the past really weren’t so different from people today in that we all have the same basic needs and that compassion and love go far.I loved this book as much as my daughter does. In fact, I started it the evening we received it while she started it the next afternoon while I was making dinner. She was so caught up in the book that she didn't give it back to me until bedtime, and then only because she had no choice. It really is a compelling story, made all the more interesting for the sibling connections (three sets of twins) and the history.While this is actually the second book about Molly and Miri and their time travels, it can easily be read on its own. Barrows does a great job of explaining how the girls became "twins" without making the reader feel like she was just summarizing a previous book. That said, we've got the first book on order now.

She has now read this book four times since she got it for Christmas a little over a year ago! I read the first book (The Magic Half) and really enjoyed it. It was a catchy story with time travel, and spunky tenacious justice-seeking female characters in peril. I knew my daughter would enjoy it and knew she'd want to get the 2nd book in the series when it came out.I've asked her about it and she says "the first book was good but this 2nd book is really really great". Which would account for why she's read it twice before and has now just finished reading it again (and then again!) twice this month!
