Spellbinder is truly a great novella.with heartbreak, comedy, friendship, action, and romance, this book is the perfect blend of all elements. It's amazing that we get to finally read from Miranda's pov and we get to see how much she has grown since Born at Midnight. She's learned to overcome challenges and so many other things. I hope we see more things from Miranda's pov in the future :) anyway overall this book gets 5 stars! (Like all the other books in Shadow Falls) THANK YOU C.C. FOR WRITING ANOTHER AMAZING BOOK!!!

I loved Kylie's story and going with her on her journey about love, friends, learning what she is and all the adventures that came of it! I am loving Della's series as well as she learns more about her family ties and opening herself up to her feelings, whether they result in good or bad. So to now have Miranda have her own story, the third in the trio, this positively delighted me! C.C. Hunter's Spellbinder, while novella, is still Miranda's chance in the spotlight and it was a marvelous story indeed!Miranda is still heartsick over the way Perry left her just like that. Breaking her heart as he moved halfway around the world. Now she finds herself gearing up for a competition to become a high priestess and wouldn't you know it, it takes place in Paris, the very city Perry ran off to.But nearly instantly danger strikes and two of the competitors are murdered, before they even began the competition back in the States. Burnett is there along with Shawn, who happens to have a soft spot for Miranda. It seems all the girls are in the midst of a love triangle, yet Kylie's is already resolved and things ended happily on all accounts. Della still harbors feelings for Steve and Chase and that's one triangle I can't seem to figure out who to root for! And the same goes for Miranda's here as well. I was all for Perry in the beginning, but his breaking up and leaving Miranda hurt me like it hurt her. And then when the two finally meet again, it's like Perry wants things to go back to the way they were before. He's learned to control his abilities and he's ready to play boyfriend again, and this angered me.Shawn on the other hand is a sweet guy. I can't decide if I am totally team Shawn yet, but I have to say I was rooting more for him then Perry. I don't like that Perry thinks he can try to make things up and be Miranda's boyfriend again lickety split. It's aggravating!Moving aside from the romance, there was yet another shocking reveal in this one. I refuse to touch on it, but all we can say it was jaw-dropping!Familiar faces make appearances in this one, it really ties the two companion series together in a way. I wish Lucas could've been in it, but alas, this is not Kylie's story so there was no need for him. The pacing to this one was great! It was a tad slow in the beginning, but really it was just the starting point, the pace never faltered after that and it was excitement after more excitement!The only thing about the ending I didn't like was the romance was never really resolved. Miranda still has her choice to make. And it's killing me not knowing which guy she will choose. Will she return to Perry after he broke her heart and expects things to go back to happy romance time or give Shawn a try...and there's more to Shawn then I'm telling you, but I'll let you experience that for yourselves! So my burning question now is, will Miranda's story be resolved in Unspoken or will she get another novella?! And since I read this in ARC format that means the wait for knowing the answer will be that much longer! Grr...Overall Rating 4.5/5 stars--basically because of how things ended with the romance and the not knowing and the not knowing of when we can see it resolved resulted in a minor .5 takeoff. But other than that I loved this novella! As I do with all the Shadow Falls books!

When her mother gives her an added incentive to do well at a spellcasting competition, she finds herself somehow in first place... and in more danger than she could imagine.While Spellbinder is a short story in the Shadow Falls universe, it's not necessary that you read the other books before reading this one, since enough background is provided that you are able to get into the story easily. I haven't (yet) read the other books in the series, but after reading this one I'm excited to start reading from the beginning! The author is able to write characters that seem read, even in a fantasy world, and while a short story doesn't give a lot of time for character development there are a few twists and turns in this story to make it interesting. Not only do we have mystery and murder in the plot, but we also dip into Miranda's past and her relationships with her friends and enemies alike. The story isn't perfect, but it's a fun and enjoyable short story.If you're a fan of magic, mystery, fantasy, and light romance, I recommend that you pick up Spellbinder by C.C. Hunter.

A little crazy but fascinating with it's intrigue By Ian Acheson We find the team in Rome having travelled there to meet an old Cardinal friend of the professor's who may be able to provide some insight into the "document" The Girl left them in the last episode.It doesn't take long before some pretty crazy things start going down. I really liked the introduction of a search for the "Spear of Destiny", the spear used to pierce the side of Jesus at His crucifixion. Adds another layer of intrigue.I'm a little confused by a lot of what happened but I'm fascinated to know what happens next and whether we'll get any explanation for some of these strange "multiverse" occurrences.Mr Peretti is up next, for the second time. I can't wait.

But this book The Revealing, seems to be the game changer. The big picture becomes clearer in this novel, plus the group now seem to realize they have a purpose and destiny together. I've read Myers, Gansky, and Peretti's books and love them, but the other authors are great writers also. I also love the diversity of the characters,hopefully they'll have more team efforts like this.

McIver I think the suggested ages for reading this are a bit young... so maybe 11 - 14 would be better. They get pretty literal and graphic (in a good way) sharing more info then my wife and I thought was necessary for even a 11 year old boy.However, you know they're gonna hear it / learn it / talk about it soon enough and if you're conservative like us, your kiddo is probably behind the information curve.It's definitely a fast, easy read -- and suggest you read it first, then hand it to your son to read all the way through once - then come back and review each chapter. One of the takeaways and observations from other parents going through "the talk" as well -- if you're uncomfortable talking about sex with your kids... they'll be uncomfortable talking with you about sex!Make it no big deal and break the big talk into many little chunks / date nights and hopefully we do better than our parents did (or didn't do) with us!

It described things gently, but accurately. It focuses a lot on the boy and includes his relationship with God. My son has all the information he needs, but didn't need to sit through an uncomfortable talk about it.

Review In their second STEAM-powered exploration (Full STEAM Ahead!, 2014), mouse twins Sydney and Simon investigate the problem of garbage.Sydney's foray into trash tracking starts with a field trip to the aquarium, where a green sea turtle is recuperating after eating plastic. It doesn't take much of a leap for Sydney to make a connection: "The more trash we make, the more there's a chance that some of that trash could end up in the ocean." The two keep a tally of their family's trash for a week, and the results are eye-opening. Their school is an even larger garbage generator. Ms. Fractalini helps the twins use science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to come up with a way to raise awareness and encourage the community to participate in a solution. A sculpture of Greenie the turtle made out of trash and a song about going green are the start of a communitywide movement to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Along the way, readers will learn lots about decomposition, how quickly garbage adds up, and ways to reduce trash. About the Author Paul A. Reynolds’s childhood home was as lively as Sydney and Simon’s. His family’s ginormous supply of pencils, paper, books, and art was referred to as “the creativity tools.” Today Paul exercises his imagination at FableVision Studios, a media company he founded with his twin brother, Peter. Together they create storytelling technology, such as websites, games, and animated films. Paul is also the author of the children’s book Going Places. He lives in Dedham, Massachusetts, where his wife manages The Blue Bunny, the family’s bookstore.Peter H. Reynolds learned early on that two minds are better than one. Like his twin, Paul, he believes that the arts help us solve problems and understand the world. Reynolds is the second book in the Sydney & Simon series exploring topics related to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics).Mouse twins Sydney and Simon are creative problem-solvers with a mission. While on a field trip, the pair learn that trash ends up in the ocean hurting animals like green sea turtles. They create a plan to convince the whole town to start recycling, reusing, and reducing.Written for the early and intermediate grades, the beginning chapter book includes many bright colored illustrations to engage readers with the interesting characters and storyline. In addition to the main storyline, the book includes a glossary and author’s note focusing on topics related to STEAM.Librarians will enjoy the STEAM theme that includes lots of art and music in addition to science information. Consider a makerspace station called the “steam studio” focusing on making instruments from recycled materials. By Sunday Cummins Clearly written for late 1st to 2nd grade readers being introduced to chapter books. The twin mice characters-Sydney and Simon-are like-able. The message is straightforward with very little for the reader to infer. This is appropriate for many student readers at this age or stage of reading. The content - "going green" could be used to launch a unit of study or further inquiry. The idea that our daily trash can end up in a far away ocean needs more discussion for students at this age to really grasp. I'd definitely provide opportunities for students to explore the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" (an island of trash about the size of Texas in the northern Pacific ocean) by pairing this fictional text with nonfiction articles.
