However, the grammar, spelling errors, run on words, lack of punctuation in places, wrong names in wrong places, poor use of paragraphs, and the inability of the author to distinguish who is speaking to the reader makes it difficult to read without getting frustrated. Book 1 was no better. It appears there was no editing done at all. If this approach was intentional, it was a bad choice. The whole series would actually be worthwhile if all the errors were corrected.

Predictive Prophecy, by Prophet Floyd Anthony Barber Jr

About the Author Prophet Floyd Anthony Barber, Jr. was born in New York City. While he was yet young and tender, he and his family relocated to the quaint suburb of Summit, New Jersey. It was there that Providence preserved him until the appointed time of his ministry. At the age of 19, he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Shortly, thereafter, he had an angelic visitation in the night. He then knew that he was called to do a work for the Lord. Since that time, Prophet Barber has gone on to become an ordained minister. His prophetic ministry flows with balance and accuracy, whereas his teaching ministry is punctuated with depth and clarity, being confirmed by various charisms of the Spirit of God. Prophet Barber has traveled across the United States ministering in churches, tent meetings, colleges and universities. He has also held associate and senior pastor positions in New Jersey, Missouri, Virginia, California, and Georgia in addition to faculty positions at Ekklesia School of Ministry and the Dr. Dorenza A. Gerrell Institute for Biblical Studies. In 1993, Prophet Barber studied Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) at the Center for Jewish Life at Princeton University. In the same year his radio program-- The Princetonian Prophet-- was the most popular program on WIMG 1300 in the Greater Trenton area. He was also a featured columnist for Philadelphia’s Anointed News Journal, and Newark’s Visions newspaper. In 2014, Prophet Barber relocated to Norfolk, Virginia where he now resides as the chief executive officer of The Prophetic Society.

Review A town prepares for Bigfoot's birthday—whether Bigfoot wants a party or not. The town of Mossy Pockets is abuzz with excitement. Today is Bigfoot's birthday! But alas, he will not be at the party because (as readers are told in no uncertain terms, with the words sprawled boldly across the page) Bigfoot does not like birthday parties. It's no matter. The town gathers anyway. The mayor, in his dapper plaid suit, the marching band, the baker with tray piled high with pies, and all the rest: "the cowboy in his boots and vest, / the lady with the purple hat, / the circus clown, the acrobat." They all parade to the mountains to celebrate. Bigfoot, who in theory should be far away since he dislikes parties so much, has bright blue fur and is seen hiding (ineffectively) on almost every page—peering around corners, concealed in trees, etc. His proximity muddles the suspense a bit, but a comical, cumulative chain of events resulting in a pie-flying catastrophe will make readers (and Bigfoot) smile. Temairik's flat illustrative style, with pops of color, is full of visual wit—not to mention particularly diverse townsfolk. There is a cadence to most of the words and definitely bits and pieces of chorus. The story is a little longish but, because of the storyline, it is an easy quick read. The repeating of words and phrases helped my 5 year old beginner reader to identify words and complete sentences.The drawings kind of reminded me of 1950 Dick and Jane type artwork with a multi-cultural representation.Of all the books we have read together this book was the first one that was a requested repeat reader and the book review took two days to write.Together we give it 5 stars because Leilani really liked it. Leaves us still wondering why Bigfoot doesn't like birthday parties By Travis Ann Sherman A children's picture book dealing with Bigfoot AND birthday parties! This book would seem to hit two very hot topics in the market right now. There's a woeful lack of good children's books dealing with either subject, and both subjects are endlessly fascinating to kids today.Unfortunately this book just misses the mark. A child getting ready for his/her own party would be bewildered by the preparations being made for Bigfoot's. No invitations, no guests, no party favors or decorations. Instead the mayor is putting on his fancy suit, a lady wears a purple hat and the baker bakes a lot of pies. True the text rhymes -- if it doesn't quite scan -- but that doesn't seem enough. So we have a procession of people and pies, determined to celebrate Bigfoot's birthday while he hides on every page, and then in the middle of it there's one of those episodes of the fly startles the frog who wakes the snake who chases the frog who wakes the dog on the log, the fly lands on the pies and everything goes flying. A giant birthday mess. Which Bigfoot just loves.It's a cheerful book for an enjoyable read, cute, but not fantastic. We're still left with wondering why Sasquatch doesn't like birthday parties. The attention? The cake? The presents? And you know, that issue could have been addressed in this book using the shy Bigfoot character. It wasn't.

The illustrations are quite clunky, and the rhyme and rhythm are not consistent and broken at times, so the text does not go fluidly, at least for me. But then my 6 year old got a hold of the book, and we read it again and again every day for a whole week. I know that part of the appeal for him was the marching band members joining the party - his brother is in the school band, so this theme is familiar for him. Another thing that seems to be appealing is the birthday party theme - he just cannot wrap his mind about the idea of someone who does not like parties. The story ends with huge mess when a whole bunch of pies flies through the air and lands precisely on each every party attendee's head, including the Bigfoot, too, and what 6 year old can resist this kind of mess?Seems like my son enjoyed the book very much, much more than me, he picked it up and read it himself a few times, too, he laughed a lot, and wanted to share with family. So, I was wrong about the book.

From Booklist Rockwell has created new illustrations and tweaked the text for her 1997 book The Supermarket. Although the straightforward scenes depicting a young boy and his mother grocery shopping are only slightly changed, the style of the art is looser, and the colors are brighter and richer. Subtle changes in the boy’s narration, mostly naming the items he and his mother purchase, include an indication that “Mommy always gets the green kind” of detergent (although, as in the original edition, their groceries go into paper bags rather than reusable bags). The story climaxes with the boy and his mother making and decorating the boy’s birthday cake with items purchased at the store. A new crop of children will enjoy this quiet, familiar outing just as others have for many years. For children a little older, Supermarket (2001), by Kathleen Krull, presents an in-depth look at all aspects of supermarkets. Preschool-Grade 1. --Randall Enos

Hing My daughter absolutely loves this book and chose it for my husband and me to read every night, at story time, for an entire month. It was one of her new favorite books along with Anne Rockwells, "My Preschool". Anne has updated this to not only be up to date in technology at the supermarket (automatic doors and computerized register) but also how to eat healthy ( mom chooses brown over white eggs, meat, vegetables, milk, cheese). This family is also environmentally conscious choosing to use their reuseable bags at check out. Perfectly describes a shopping day with my child. The nice touch at the end is how the little boy reminds his mother of his birthday. They go home and bake his cake.My daughter loves every element of this book. She is three; loves pretend cooking, shopping, eating, and playing birthday and this book touched on each area. If your child loves these things like mine, it will also be a hit in your home.

Cutler The author updates the classic book "The Supermarket" she wrote with her husband more than thirty years ago. For the parent who wants to prepare her child for a trip to the supermarket, this book will ensure no surprises. The doors open automatically, the parent grabs a shopping cart, and the child helps her fill it with all the usual grocery products: vegetables, fruits, milk, eggs, and bread and peanut butter. The little boy tells about the trip, describing what they are buying, and what his favorite foods are. The eager extremely well-behaved child reminds his mother not to forget that tomorrow is his birthday, and they need to buy the ingredients to make a birthday cake; they make the cake when they get home. The acrylic gouache on cold-press watercolor paper illustrations are vibrant and colorful, and sized nicely for reading aloud to a preschool group.

We have read this to the kids so many times, we know it by heart! They love the story & the fact that it's told from a kid's point of view. The kids never seem to tire of it.

About the Author

ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPÉRY, the "Winged Poet," was born in Lyon, France, in 1900. A pilot at twenty-six, he was a pioneer of commercial aviation and flew in the Spanish Civil War and World War II. His writings include The Little Prince, Wind, Sand and Stars, Night Flight, Southern Mail, and Airman's Odyssey. In 1944, while flying a reconnaissance mission for his French air squadron, he disappeared over the Mediterranean.
