We get tangled up in the world's assessment and our own self-judgment.With hope-filled writing and plenty of hard-won personal advice, Carey Scott shows women how to untangle their self-esteem from the world and anchor it in Jesus. By Ginger Carey Scott highlights the treacherous common ground that women journey through life on if we choose to love the way God has called us to. She is transparent and vulnerable - holding nothing back from the reader. Her illustrations and experiences are something we could all relate to at one point in time or another in our lives. Every chapter resonated with my own historical struggles as a woman. I appreciate her wit and the way she shares her heart on the pages. The prayers at the end of each chapter were fresh and put me at the feet of The One who brings healing.I needed to hear her story and how she has gotten to the other side of her tangles. She points the way out of the forest of my heart like a compass on a killer backpack trip! Destination: God's ability to heal and redeem my story as well. He is faithful and the more I read the more confident I became of His ability to bring beauty from ashes. There is a sisterhood I felt while reading this book - a divine kinship. We do not walk alone and I am thankful for this book on my own journey.

I have struggled with insecurity and that "not good enough" feeling for as long as I can remember. I knew this book would be an awesome God-honoring reminder that I'm not alone, but it was so much more than I expected.Carey is transparent and down-to-earth in her writing, sharing her struggles and offering wisdom like a trusted friend. She gives powerful insight into common tangles in certain areas of our lives (expectations of women, marriage, kids, domestic disappointment, friendship, social media, success). Through her personal examples and fresh perspective I was able to identify the source of my hang ups, some I didn't even know I had! A few of the realizations I had about myself were heavy, but Carey has a natural ability to make readers feel empowered even in brokenness. As a homemaker and self-professed Martha who takes pride in decorating and having a "perfect" house, the chapter on domestic disappointment really spoke to me about where I'm rooting my identity. Finding my self-worth in these trivial things can distract me from living the Christ-centered life I desire. Ouch! In the last chapter Carey really prepares us for our own untangling journey. She's very honest about the fact that just reading this book isn't going to solve all of our insecurity issues. God is the only One who can loosen the knots and it will take time to go through this process with Him as He reveals and redeems each tangle.Throughout the book Carey both lovingly encourages and challenges readers to discover that He can take all the messes inside our black and blue hearts and use them to shape us into the masterpieces He created us to be. Untangled is for any woman who is ready to face her insecurity and find her true worth in Jesus.

Women will learn practical strategies to escape unattainable standards and the performance-based measuring stick of the world, and find comfort in the fact that they are not alone on the journey. My Review: According to the author we will have many tangles in this life and it is up to us to let God have free reign over them all. A lot of times this is no easy feat, us letting God untangle our hurts and problems. The author addresses many of these tangles throughout her book and she draws from her own lessons in life to shed some light on ours and lead us to a place to reach ultimate freedom. We ourselves will never be able to fix our issues no matter what they are, it is only under God's receiving of them that we find true peace. The author addresses from her own childhood to her married life and beyond. She hasn't always been perfect and she reassures you that you don't have to be either. We can come to God with the freedom knowing that through His different processes He will take care of our needs in all areas of our lives. I don't know about you but that is very comforting to me.**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Revell.
