10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. An English-speaking editor could have saved this book By James L. Edwards This is one of the worst-edited books I've ever seen. It's hard to believe that the author's first language is English. One of the chapter titles is "How to be a Jewish." Some sentences: Referring to the Torah, "The aide that would show them all things required to do, to impeccable the world." "Synagogues, generally, mimic the asylum style of the prevailing society."With such sentences, it is hard to judge how accurate the content is. An English-speaking editor could have saved this book, but as it is, two stars is as high as I can go.

Whoever wrote it obviously doesn't speak English as a first language and didn't bother to get a translator or English editor. It has sentences like: "A story is recounted a skeptic.", "Do you truly accept there would someone say someone is who made the world?", "The Sage told the irreligionist [sic] craftsman to give back the following day, as he required eventually to thoroughly consider these genuine inquiries.", and "Each point of interest of an existence scene had been painted to flawlessness."All of those examples are on the first page. This is utterly incomprehensible! And to add to that, it's obviously not explaining about real Judaism and one of the first sentences says that Judaism isn't really a religion! Don't even bother with this trash, it's a waste of time. Thank god I got it free and didn't have to pay for this rubbish. Even .99 cents is too much for this garbage.

It looks at the history of Judaism, the steps needed to covert to Judaism, and also contains a very interesting chapter comparing Judaism to Christianity and Islam. Akanado has put together a very interesting book and if you have an interest in understanding more about Judaism, start by reading this.
