6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Ok- but not a Christmas "must-have" By BrittyMama Kevin, Stuart, and Bob are the stars of this Minion book. They start off in their cave since it is too cold for outside, but these mischievous minions start to get a little cabin fever and decide to venture out. They dig tunnels, find the rest of their minion friends, and make an igloo. After an almost unfortunate run in with a polar bear, a mysterious shadow helps chase it away. The book leaves us hanging a bit- since we just see the shadow approaching (of what looks like an abominable snowman or snow monster of sorts) but we don't know for sure whether it is friend or foe.The book is told in a style that seems to mimic the personality of the minions- very scattered and silly. It is narrated almost like a sportscast ("The Minions begin digging their tunnel to freedom. Look at Bob go! The Minion's shoveling has created a series of crazy tunnels. Check it out! Bob finds something hidden in the snowbank."). We love the Minions in our house, but this book was just a little too scattered for us.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Abrupt, unresolved ending is vexatious to even young readers. By One Officer's Opinion I read this book to my daughter. The minions have an encounter with a polar bear, and they devise a plan to scare it off. Unbeknownst to them, some unidentified creature arrives and causes the polar bear to flee. All the reader sees is this mysterious creature's shadow. Just as the reader is about to discover what strange creature scared off the polar bear, the story ends. Abruptly. Without any resolution or explanation. I literally had to check if there were pages missing at the end.Don't buy this if you think stories should culminate in some logical conclusion.
