This particular set "Warriors: Power of Three" is based on Firestar's 3 grandchildren. It is fortold kin of his kin will hold the power of the stars in their paws. This particular series is a little bit on the "slow read" side. There is lots of dreams Jaypaw (Jayfeather) has about ancient cats. Lionpaw (Lionblaze) also finds himself in a dream trip. The final book picks up the plot and leaves the reader wondering "Who is the 3rd cat in the prophecy?" One can pick up this series and read it without having read the first set of books "Warriors" but it's not recommended; at some point the reader will be lost as to "why" things are happening. Start with the 1st and 2nd sets of books before reading this series. The Warriors is my son's favorite books to read! He's 10 years old and can't hardly put them down.

It is an excellent story series for all ages (10 to 88 so far!). the books are an easy read for kids of all ages. Aside from the addictive storyline, there are substories of loyalty, betrayal, honor, progressive responsibility, life and death. Nothing gruesome or gory. highly reccomend the series!

The kits are two future warriors, destined for greatness. No cat is happier then their mother. Stormkit is her handsome, brave, little warrior and a Oakkit is the oldest and named after the oak that protected her in the storm while she was kitting. Then, Stormkit decides to take an adventure when he gets knocked into the river and brakes his jaw on a stone.No longer the handsome kit, his mother casts him aside and demands that Hailstar cruelly renames her kit Crookedkit. Oakkit is the special one now but nothing stops Crookedkit from loving and supporting his brother. Oakpaw receives his warrior name Oakheart while Crookedpaw ramains an apprentice. But Crookedpaw is the fighter and hunter because secretly he's receiving special training from Mapleshade, a starclan cat, or so he thinks...Then she asks him to be loyal to his clan above all other things... She asks him to Promise... Crookedpaw renamed Crookedjaw promises, of coarse he would be loyal. Why not promise it to receive training? But he doesn't know that promising means Mapleshade will slowly kill off his loved ones because they "distract" him from his loyalty. Then he discovers a dark secret about Mapleshade and Crookedjaw's world shatters.I really enjoyed this book! Whats awesome about it is if you have read Bluestar's prophecy you know that there are some parts with Bluefur and Crookedjaw. In this book you see things from Crookedjaw's perspective not Bluefur. That's really cool and I recommend this book!!!!!!
