Another strong addition to the series, and an excellent conclusion By Arjana I'm not really sure where to begin - this was an excellent conclusion to the series! The story came to a satisfying close, with just the right amount of epilogue. It was wonderful watching these characters and the story grow through a war that was more realistic than I expected, where not all battles are easily won, and people die.It was great seeing some of the more prominent characters from the previous books take a bit of a backseat, and more of the less explored characters were developed - I really liked seeing Henry's progression in particular. I also enjoyed the expansion of Valerie's vivicus abilities, and getting to explore other, some more tangible, forms of magic.I've really grown attached to these characters and had a great time reading this book, an addition that easily lives up to the previous books. As with the previous books, definitely recommended for fans of YA fantasy - it was wonderful finding a series that only got better as it went on!

Sae-Low In the final book of The Conjuror Series, Kristen Pham draws us back in to the mythical world of the Globe, where we eagerly read along to find out the conclusion to her wonderful series. Does Pham deliver a satisfying conclusion? Has she imagined a rich world full of details and nuances that make us wish we were there? Has she created a memorable heroine in Valerie Diaz who is both complex and believable? The answer is yes to all these questions. What an incredible journey Valeria Diaz has been on since The Society of Imaginary Friends, and Edge of Pathos brings everything to a momentous finale (with an unexpected surprise at the end).We pick up with Valerie, reluctantly forced into her leadership role over the Fist, but the time for contemplating her next moves are over. Now, Reaper and his Fractus bombard both the Globe and Earth with devastating attacks. The boundary between worlds has been destroyed leaving Valerie with the impossible task of waging war on two fronts. With innocent people, including friends, perishing left and right, Valerie struggles with the decisions she must make, knowing that there is no way to save everyone she loves. Does she save Thai or Cyrus? Meanwhile, as the various peoples of The Globe unite in battle, Reaper secretly pursues a mysterious power that if found, will leave both worlds under his dominion. There were several scenes where I felt gripped by not only the drama in the book, but also the way by which Pham so eloquently writes. Pham truly has created a series here that readers of all things fantasy and young adult need to be reading. Edge of Pathos reads like a space ship set at warp speed. The action and drama are set at maximum, taking readers through the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Where we witness families reunited and others torn apart. The endings for all her characters were quite satisfying, but simultaneously left me wondering if we'll ever see them again. Perhaps Pham has another series for Valerie and her friends in the future? We can only wish, but for now, know that Edge of Pathos and The Conjuror Series has definitely left its mark.

Grace In an earlier review of the first 3 books in this series, I said something to the effect that the author needed to refine her writing and that it lacked polish. This final installment has more than risen above those remarks with a more mature, fully-fleshed cast of characters and well-crafted story line that brings the entire tale full circle. I loved the many creative twists author Pham gave us as the saga draws to a close. It was never clear how the ending would manifest itself, and when that finally happened there was a just-right sense of satisfaction.I gathered from the book's final conclusion that we can look forward to new adventures in the Conjuror's universe starring little Ming. I can't wait.
