Deep, moving and challenging - worthy reading By Amazon Customer What a rare privilege to hear from the heart of a former Muslim about God's call and saving protection in the midst of much trial and adversity. The insights and thoughts both challenge and encourage the reader. Syed neither minimizes the persecution nor glorifies himself but points to the true source of his strength "During that time (of beating), the Lord strengthened me." His love for those who follow Islam is a much needed tonic and balance in our world today that is fraught with misunderstanding and fear of Muslims. There are truths to mine here in this quick read that deal with persecution, finances, growth in the Lord, missiology and the ultimate question, "Is Jesus worth everything?" Syed's own words will challenge you as will his story - "I would give up anything for His (Jesus') sake." Read this book to remind yourself of the need for persistent love and never giving up! Syed hasn't given up - will you??

Syed Ibn Syed's journey is one that reveals the constancy of God found in faith and dependence upon Him against all odds and against all that Syed has previously known. This book is a fast read and is inspiring on so many levels; but it is also challenging, oh that our lives would paint as clear a picture of the grace and redemption found only in Jesus!

In the day and age of ISIS, this is a rare ray of bright sunshine and demonstrates that God really is at work in the Islamic world. Syed was a man born in a strict Islamic family, memorized the whole Quran at a young age, but Jesus showed up one day and changed his life. His story kept my husband and I riveted to the pages. The way that God continues to use him among Muslims today is very encouraging. This is a must read for anyone who wants to be greatly encouraged!
